The builders did not do a good job building this house. So many issues. They are not getting them done.

Very poor communication, lack of attention to details. Very poor workmanship and care for work.

The worst builder in Texas to deal with. Low quality and poor workmanship.

They do fake promises! not my cup of tea.

We closed on the 29th March, My wife and I walked into a house that had holes in the ceiling, holes in the walls, all floors where dirty and had paint overspray on every part of the house. The quality vinyl floors had lifted in every room on the lower level, which we are still waiting to be replaced. We have had jobs in for correction or repairs since we have been here and am not impressed with the quality of work received. If this is Centex's idea of quality they should be ashamed of what they are selling. This house, and I say house because I am still unable to put my furniture in due to the floors and other repairs needed to call it a home. I would not recommend Centex homes to my family, friends or worst enemies Period, and will not have my adult children purchase there new home from Centex. ... Más

This was absolutely the worst home buying experience. Something that was supposed to be a fun experience is a living nightmare. During multiple inspections and walks many issues were pointed out to our Field manager and he either just didn’t give a crap or didn’t know what he was doing. During the last month of our build we reached out to his boss who was very concerned on our build. 1 month post closing and I’m living with blue tape all over my walls, can’t hang a single single, going on my 4th floor install, 4th master shower tile install, unpainted doors, unpainted trim. Much of the home is still full of the same issues that had been promised to be fixed such as paint on the floor in multiple locations, trim missing in our bathroom, warped cabinet doors in the kitchen, and poor dry wall work with metal corner braces still being exposed against a white wall.... Anytime we have reached out to our builder rep he was more focused on a positive survey response than the completion or even overall craftsmanship put into our home. We were the last home in our neighborhood to close and it has been made apparent that the focus is on the next building project now that our neighborhood has been completely sold. I hesitated to write this review, but the number of issues I had to go through with this new build is unbearable. The closing date was 2/18/2022. Today is 4/21/2022. Before buying this house, I was ready to go with Taylor Morrison vs. Pulte. However, I end-up signing with Pulte/Centex after considering the commute (Centex house is closer to the city). The model house I saw was well finished. The quality is high and promising. The build I end up with is nothing alike. Summarizing the issues as below: The number of tickets I have open for a MAJOR problem is 8. Below is a list and brief description: The slab under the garage door was not even. That will allow the water to go in, plus insects. The main water shut-off valve inside the garage is buried behind the drywall. They had to cut and surface the value box. 120 volts of electricity was running in the front yard bibb. I attempted to water the front yard one day and got shocked by the electricity. The electrician found out that there was a screwdriver was right in the main electricity line. Interior finishes are bad. Modeling is not straight, and electricity outlets are not aligned. The paint was poorly applied to the front door. They came to fix it, but it still looks so bad. The house floorplan I went with has six kitchen cabinets on one side installed side by side. There is a trim at the top of the cabinets. They cut that trim into two pieces and kept a gap between them. The garage door rail was curvy. The garage door was making a noise when the motor attempted to pull the door up. After closing on the house, I found some scratches on the backdoor glass. They replaced the glass, but the door paint needed some touch-ups afterward. The original backdoor color was white, but the painters decided to paint it black from the outside. They ended up replacing the door and still waiting for the painters (praying nothing will go wrong this time). Some items to add to the above list: Centex claimed they put plywood or glue under the vinyl during the floor installation, but that is not true. They claimed they used some kuchen under the carpet and glue to hold the carpet, but that is not true. I believe going with Centex/Pulte was a wrong decision. ... Más

It’s been two months after closing and issues are still being discovered in addition to NOT being initially completed. It’s the little things the workers didn’t take pride in; baseboards not sealed correctly, non active bathroom bent, AC vent installed incorrectly (facing the window which creates moisture), installing the address numbers directly under the light where no one can see them, not thoroughly cleaning the house before I’ve taken possession, etc. Once things were supposed to be completed, I’ve asked for photos (as the home owner) but was told to get them from someone else. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. The only thing I should’ve needed from two months ago when I initially closed should be the stainless steel appliances which are on back order. Everything else should have been fixed and it wasn’t. I’ve told the site manager numerous times, emailed and texted the issues with the home. No solution has been granted. The last straw and what prompted this survey is when there was a leak in a wall due to a nail in a tube. This caused three levels in the pantry to be ripped out while waiting for the wood to dry before re-patching. I’ve been patient with this entire process but enough is enough. I can no longer be nice about this. The process has been POOR and not up to standards at all. I’m supposed to be excited about a new home purchase but it’s the complete opposite. This has the potential to be a beautiful home but based on the drama I’ve had/am having to deal with, it’s really ruining my experience. Lastly, things are still getting fixed, interior and exterior. Lights were left on, water was ran and additional power has been used. As a professional company who executes customer service, I should be compensated for all of the power/water used AFTER closing that contractors had to use. I should not have to pay for something I didn’t use and more so, things should have been done prior to my closing date. ... Más

At this point I’m giving all one stars due to the experience after buying the home. I’ve been in my home for 2 months and there is no communication or any effort to get things fixed that were on the inspection list! Unbelievable headache for the amount of money paid for home.

The workmanship is the lowest I have seen ever. No issues have been resolved as of yet. Sloppy work,substandard materials. promises not fulfilled. If you don’t use their mortgage company they make the process really difficult for you. It has been a complete nightmare.

I would not recommend this builder to anyone. I’m a builder myself and the entire process was an absolute nightmare.

No shows on warranty work several times. No one cares. They blame it on being a busy time.

Overall the experience was sub par. I’ll start by saying our construction manager was fantastic throughout the entire process. The house however is already showing is lack of workmanship. We have horribly poor mud and tape throughout the ceiling and some walls of the entire house and are in the process of having the framers and drywallers get back out in order to scrape, re mud and tape and then reapply the texture and paint for both up and down stairs. Definitely not the best way to start off living in a home after waiting for 10 months to move in. Loads of other simple quality control issues for example poor finish on some of our cabinets, not receiving the correct door handles and having them have to be replaced, scratches on mirrors which are being replaced and issues with the AC intermittently not working. All in all we will benefit greatly from the market increasing and without having the warranty take care of all of the repairs we absolutely would never consider building with them again. Never Recommend and feeling very unhappy

construction materials of very low quality and very poorly built with many defects and very slow to fix what was wrong

This is my third brand new home I purchased and the manner in which this brand new home was turned over to me after closing is not acceptable. Absolutely sub par. Minor issues arise and that is understandable but we are currently dealing with MAJOR issues with my home which the building manager has a rebuttal for each issue we present. Construction is not my profession so when Dennis, the building manager has a solution to our issues it involves manual labor on our part. During the building process, while giving himself kudos and accolades on his experience and expertise, he mentioned on occasion that his workers dont know how to measure well and do not know what they are doing. We see why now and if that is the case, he should be watching his workers closer. Currently we are dealing with a framing issue with a 4 inch discrepancy, exposed nails in stairs and flooring, debris left under padding of carpet, thin carpet padding pointed out by contractor, ill-fitted doors/door frames, no heating cooling going to downstairs, ill-fitted lighting fixtures, incomplete/non-existing weather stripping, front door turn-lock ill-fitted, debris and trash with exposed nails and trash including beer cans left in backyard, excess trash and insulation left in furnace, exposed glue on laminate and a host of other problems and issues including unnecessary caulking just to pass inspection. 2 stars are given for responsiveness to some of our issues but when contractors arrive, they are baffled by the workmanship and cannot complete some work because the issue runs deeper. Current problem has to be addressed by higher ups on possible next steps due to no easy fix. It’s frustrating and unfortunate to deal with such problems from a new build. ... Más

Sales experience was great. We were told many things by our salesperson. Only a few of those things were honored by the builder. I did not appreciate the initial price hike for my house that happened simply because 2 lots were sold before my salesperson delivered my contract. My price was increased $8 000 per sold lot for a total of $16,000 in those 2 days. The workmanship was questionable from the time they started the frame. There were crooked support beams under window frames, crooked window & door frames. Studs had pieces of wood missing from them, because they are glued together to create the desired length. The field manager caught most of the issues, but I caught a lot. The builder hires contractors who hire subcontractors and no one seems to actually work directly for the builder. This may be normal, but in my opinion it lessens the quality., and the end result shows it. Everything from the drywall work to the paint to the landscaping to the garage door installation was poorly completed and in some areas actual damage was done by the installers and the installers admitted it was intentional. There are drainage issues throughout the development because the land grading was not done correctly. This is from my neighbors testimony and my personal experience. My experience with the builders customer service for after closing issues on the home is they are only there to save the builder from liability exposure; not to actually help the homeowner. If you don't have physical evidence that it is the builder's responsibility,, like photographs or video, the builder will not fix it. ... Más

Overall this has been a terrible experience. House was not finished when we closed. A/C and furnace wired backwards, causing the furnace to constantly trip the breaker during cold weather (got that fixed about 5 weeks after closing), back porch catches water by the back door (sloped wrong direction - under re-construction now), sprinkler system did not work, master bath shower would not drain (not slow - didn't drain at all and had water in shower basin for 2 weeks), waited about a month for the appropriate front door knob to be installed, living room HVAC vent would not open, paint spilled on garage floor and concrete is discolored. Paint and workmanship is sloppy and needs plenty of touchups. Asked for paint so we could do some touch-ups ourselves but still don't have that. Closed 6 weeks ago and still waiting for lots to be fixed. Contractors that do come by track mud and make a mess. Back yard needs re-sodding where some contractors made it into a mud pit. I feel sorry for the people working for CenTex. I assume they are well-intentioned but this development really is a mess. ... Más

Terrible experience with the builder, wish I never bought from Centex (Pulte). They talk about delays, but when you see other home being built and your is not, very disappointing. Communication is terrible, updated email don't tell you the truth on what is going on with your home. After the move in so many issue from leaky windows, floors having bubbles, cabinets not installed correctly, access to attic left open. pressure washing horrible, The yard is full of nails, razer blades, cut metals. Doors don't open on close correctly, bedroom shelfing falls down. No bang for your buck with this company. Do your homeworker, get anything promised in writing from the sales department. Centex constructions manager and warranty personnel are not on top of things. The workmanship is inferior, and the quality of the house is not what I was expected for someone paying over $300,000 in San Antonio. Two months after closing escrow, Centex never completed the items identified during our home walkthrough. The second-story floors are squeaky and uneven. I am concerned about the way Centex framed my house. The exterior painting was poorly done. You can see all the irregular spray marks all over the place. The driveway and front of the house were dirty, and the roof was full of paint. It was unfortunate to get the keys to our new home and find it like that. ... Más

Drywall was, and is still, terrible, the finishing guy kept telling me it was done and it wasn't even close. They can't even finish it STILL. Embarrassed to live in it or show anyone else. Patched up the errors with caulk, every error. Paint missing on portions of the wall. Drywall tape still popping out. Drywall texture still missing. No one cares when I tell them to fix it. It's been over a month since I signed. They tried to put a light oak trim filler in the cabinets with dark cherry color and thought I wouldn't notice. Paint splatter and caulking on the floors, window glass, and everywhere it shouldn't be, not clean, keep leaving the door unlocked when they're "finished working" on it for the day. Worst. The quality of the house is very poor. There are a lot of issues inside the house. My field manager made me to sign the closing document and promised me that he will fix all issues in a week but it’s been 2 months. No one is addressing my issues. Paint is already coming off from walls. Even a small strain on the wall is not going when I rub on it. I paid 3000$ extra for painting. I am very much disappointed with this. There are a lot of squeaking noises in second floor. I am not sure if it is a structural issue or carpet issue. I dropped emails to my field manager and RDUWarranty but no one is willing to address my issue. I didn’t expect this from Pulte. They are losing their brand value. ... Más

Stay away from Centex Homes, POOR Workmanship, POOR Quality Control, POOR Materials, they DO NOT CRAE about customers, we are just a number to them! Take your money somewhere else! There are plenty of builders that offers better value for your money.

This house was built so poorly, I would need to take over 100 photos to show someone. I can't even begin to try and describe the issues from walls being crooked, lack of 90-degree angles, lack of caulk where it needs to be, massive gaps that were caulked instead of properly worked. The trades this company hires to do their work are absolutely garbage. Overall worst experience and in the community Facebook group, I am one of the hundreds of people who have had a worse or similar experience. Centex should be closed down.
