I hate to use the word nightmare because I’ve certainly experienced worse. But you definitely don’t get what you pay for. Here I am a month I’m still waiting for someone to come fix the windows that won’t close, paint our outside veranda, install missing lights, and bring missing pieces to our blinds. Upgrades you pay for you have to remind them you paid for or you don’t get them: examples is crown molding, tray ceilings etch What we had to get fixed during the process was crazy: missing screens, attic unit missing pipe covers, shotty painting, wrong tile in kitchen, missing light over shower, chipped and cracked marble/granite, etc. And we put down over 40% cash on this house and got a house I could only compare to a sad reflection on workmanship of what they show you in the model. They take some sweet time building for 6 months and then it’s a mad dash the last 2 weeks to get it ready to move in. I will never build with centex or Pulte again. I’ll stick with Taylor Morrison who for a townhome we had for $100 less what was better quality. ... Más

In terms of the people I worked with, excellent. When it comes to the house, it has been issue after issue and disappointment after disappointment. The way we received our home at closing was a little disturbing to say the least. My wife and 2 kids had been in a 1bd apartment prior to so we were just happy to have space. I highly recommend paying a close eye to detail, trim work and the overall crew who is building. Corona bottles and cups of pee are not uncommon to find along with razor blades, filthy window seals and trash hidden behind your appliances. Interior and exterior paint job is a joke. ... Más

Getting in contact with the builder was always an issue. Updates were hardly ever sent and closing kept getting delayed

We are happy with our home buying experience. We wish that there had been more time spent on the little finishing details to make sure that the home felt complete, but as a starter home, the price is decent for what you get. There is some room for customizability, but for some things, it is worth it to just do it yourself down the road so you don't pay interest on minor upgrades.

We were pleased with Pulte and the lending process. It went very smooth. Our field managers also get a 10 star. Shout out to Walker for trying his best and hardest to make things happen even during shortages. The flooring is very low quality. You can not even place a dining table down without the floors having intentions immediately. The cleaning lady did not do a good job on a “move in ready” clean. I completely understand the surrounding areas are a construction site and so was the home, however there was still solution left on the cabinets that had not been wiped up, dust on the counters, doors etc. We did a thorough cleaning ourselves. We are finding a lot of unfinished things that will have to get done with the 1 year warranty. It’s a great home for a great price, but the biggest concern is the quality in the flooring and the warranty not covering that. For the price we paid, the flooring should be better. ... Más

I bought a Centex home & closed on the house on August 9th, 2021. At the time of our walk through the front and rear trees were flat out dead. The sales rep told me in her own words she was going to have the trees replace so did the builder he too texted me and emailed me saying "Just go to closing and we will replace the two dead trees" today is September 12th, 2021 and the trees still have not bee replaced. The sales rep won't return my calls. The builder disappeared. These guys are a joke. Before you sign your final closing docs make sure you don't take any promises from their sales reps. They are a true Foxy Luxy that will smile and tell you what ever you want to hear just to get you to close on time so that they can get their commission. ... Más

The only positive was after I contacted the construction supervisors boss.His superior stayed on top of our construction and tried to correct the bad experience we had with the supervisor.We still have outstanding issues that need attentioon.

The house was unfinished due to multiple careless mistakes when we moved in. We were never allowed to have our blue tape meeting and kept being told it would be this day or that day and then it never happened. There is paint on the floor, missing caulk, gauges in the wall, pin holes everywhere, missing screws, a attic door that isn't even painted at all, a banister that is not finished being sanded and stained, spindaels that are not fully attached, and doors that to do not close, and things we paid for that were never installed. It's been a month and a half and the builder is still refusing to fix these things and pretending it isn't happening. Calls and says he will fix it and install things and then nothing changes and no call back again until we call again. We have spoke to the sales consultant, the field manager, and the warrenty company and still have not had the issues that should have been fixed at the blue tape meeting, or better yet never happened because who leaves gauges in the wall, fixed. We were so happy with this process until the final month and then once we got into the house since they left the house unfinished. We waited before filling this out hoping they would fix these issues but here we are, without even an estimate of when they might pretend to show up to finish the house. ... Más

The build needs to be monitored by the home buyer, daily, to insure the quality construction. Also, there is no concern for details or communication with the buyers and the build quality supervisors. Construction cost could lower if there were not so many errors made by the contractors, i.e., concrete torn out and re-poured, insulation replaced because of moisture damage, siding replacement and multiple industy best practices not followed.

Starting out was great got to choose your own design and select colors but when it came to building the house we had a lot of failed inspection because workers were cutting corners and causing me to be delayed another 3 and half months from closing and I am still finding more issues after closing, this feels like a working project instead of a move and ready home, my advise is do not close until everything is fix and I mean everything, because to get someone out there will take weeks to fix.

They rush the house build and didn't address every issue my inspector caught. I keep seeing new things wrong everyday about the poor quality. The buying process was smooth and location is good.

the paint job is really bad. that i will have to repaint the whole hose soon. also the concrete in front of the main door is not even, they been saying that i t will get fix soon but nothing yet .

The house itself is built decently. Obviously I know that there will be little things here and there and it is a process to get things sorted out over the course of a couple months while the house settles but the trades companies that this company employees to handle electricity, HVAC and tiling/drywall make me believe that they have no idea what they are doing. We have had so many issues related to trade work its not funny. While issues are being sorted out along the way the fact that we moved into a "New" home and had light switches not work or missing floor boards and sinking floors is inexcusable. I understand that cosmetic things like tiles uneven and shotty paint work is expected and that is ok but having your HVAC system not working correctly in FL is something I would expect to have sorted out. It was a long process due to delay of windows. Started with the framing when they had weak corners, poor bracing. Installed portions of the roof in the dark, I see roof sheathing plywood popping out in the neighborhood Cabinets installed 45 days before the house was climate controlled Patio cement is already cracked. The Pulte work sites are horrible. Trash and waisted supplies every where

Poor craftsmanship Poor responsiveness from building manager If I could of pulled out of my contract without any penalties or inconvenience to my family with moving I would have done so

So many downs throughout the process. From floor plan changes (a wall that wasn’t supposed to be diagonal end up being) to multiple water leaks, one that owner found on a random visit to the house, that was able to stop it before it ruined the entire second floor with the over night water fountain. Overall the floor used is sub-par and below quality, been told is not linoleum and it’s a Vinyl roll but they are both the same and at the price point a plank would’ve been ok. Floor is peeling everywhere, is not resistant and wasn’t finish correctly in so many places. The cabinets needed reordering of multiple faces because they were all scratched up everywhere but difficult to tell on the quick walkthroughs. Majority of walls and doors are not leveled or crooked on a variety of ways. The list goes on. If I can do it all over again, I would NOT buy a Centex home (at least here at this subdivision of Winding Brook) and spend a little extra cash and go with a different builder in the area. Buying experience should have been exciting, sales rep was not really supportive through purchase, field manager was terrible at overseeing the workmanship was at the level of expectation set, quality of materials is not exceptabke for new built home!! Many issues with workmanship, you have unqualified workers such as painters , cabinet installers, trim carpenters floor installers !! Every issue has been passed off as a vendor issue, no one takes accountability !! Would never recommend Centex to my family and friends

The PM Zack L was great and very attentive. The workman ship was not something worth over $300,000. I am disappointed in the quality of work and what passes as a new build.

Lots of small issues with the house Paint splatter all over the floors which I had to clean up Poor cuts in the sheet rock that are highly noticeable Caulking left behind everywhere that I’ve scrapped off And when installing the the siding a nail went thru the ac line causing a leak which now not even a month in they had to come back fix the leak and I have holes in my walls Pulte is fusing the holes but just a huge inconvenience

Houses are built with hurry and because of this there are things left behind. Finishes left behind like doors not closing correctly or having gaps. Almost two months and I can hardly use my backyard because it does not drain correctly. They came to fix it and now is worse. The stairs handrail still waiting to be fixed. Low quality paint. Not happy with this purchase.

Tons of trash left in backyard, nails on steps/ bleeding feet toddler. Ceiling had to be repainted. More issues

Home warranty center is not good at getting things fixed. Of my list of MANY items that need repair, I don't think a single one has been completed...we've been there 2 months!!

The home itself is nice, no complaint there. However I’ve been in for 4 weeks, the cabinets are atrocious and not well built. The drawers hang or won’t close. Or they’re so close to another cabinet or drawer you can’t open them because they don’t have handles. The spare bathroom developed a leak in the shower diverter and it’s been 5 days and no one from warranty has been here to fix it after they assured me they would. The paint the builders uses is horrible. If you remotely tough the paint, it’s leaving a very distinct mark. The more you look the more you see where the drywall and mud striping was done in a hurry and it looks terrible on the ceilings. Pulte mortgage was asking absolutely personal and ridiculous questions during the purchase process and that is why I went with another VA lender. ... Más

We have had a roller coaster of an experience, and I would not recommend Centex. We had a terrible project manager, Jackson, for almost the entirety of the build, who never contacted us, never gave us updates, didn't put in any service requests when we noticed broken windows in the home, they tiled the wrong floors, etc. It was a nightmare. When I had to contact our account manager to get him to even call me, he sounded like I was bothering him. Three weeks before close, they switched us to a new PM, Clay, who was fantastic. They told us the other guy left and knew he was on his way out and clearly wasn't doing much during the months he was our PM. Clay did everything to make sure we closed on time, and fixed all of this issues that were ignored in those 3 weeks. But we are still dealing with horrible issues from Jackson's lack of effort. Namely, our low voltage wiring was not supervised when put in, and the wires go all over our house. A doorbell issue turned into cutting walls all throughout our house and we're still waiting for it to be repaired. I now worry that any electrical is going to cause this again. The electrician who came to fix the issue almost laughed when he heard Jackson was the primary PM, because he has had to fix numerous issues like this but only with his houses. Also nails were sticking out into the walls near wires, which could cause a fire. The electrician removed them, but thats only in the 3 walls he cut into. Who knows if my house is on the verge of a fire from his lack of care about the build of people's homes, where safety should never be a concern, especially on a new house. I'm giving this a 3, because Clay we give a 5, Jackson a 0. I don't know if it was just the few of us who had Jackson who had a terrible experience. But it seems like Centex knew he wasn't doing a great job and should have removed him way sooner, because us homeowners are dealing with the consequences. ... Más
