We had a decently easy buying process, not many delays and open communication, but the second closing papers were signed and money was in their hand we have had horrible customer service. I was promised two missing components to my home within two weeks of moving, and after several emails and unanswered calls we still don’t have them nearly two months later (except for a “hey there, did you get what you need?” Email that i answered and got no response) They are very nice before they get their money, but then it’s onto the next buyer with no follow up or care for those who just moved into their homes. Their contractors also openly litter and walk through our yard and mulch bed and step on our bushes (seen on ring doorbell) with no care as if we are not a closed property. If you’re looking for a comfortable buying process only to be pushed off the ledge to figure every little thing out post closing yourself, Centex is right for you. ... Más

Alicia is PHENOMINAL to work with in the sales dept, she is so sweet and very responsive all the way through the process; even after closing she responds. She gets a 10/10 in my book. Chaz in the building dept stopped communicating after closing, I thought that was very odd. After all people go though during several months long in the building process and awaiting closing - one would think you would at least pass the homeowner along instead of making them feel cheated or cheap. Sending people to voicemail and asking them to reply via email only seems very shady/shaky - only to get no reply back or several days later get a reply. This does not make anyone feel good considering the huge investment/purchase to have a new home built. If I were buying a piece of furniture I would expect lag, but this is a home for families to live in and we should be treated with top notch customer service. The process is very time consuming and all parties involved need to have ALOT of patience during the build. Good luck to anyone looking to build a home with Centex. It will be built, it may take what feels like forever to be completed, and may have a punch list that still isn't fulfilled/completed after 30 days of closing, but its possible to make it a home. I have no complaints about Centex as an agent. I would only recommend that they have a design center so it is easier to pick out your options within the home. A electronic design center that buyers can do on their free time to pick and choose options for their home. I am not a fan of Pulte Homes. We were promised a lot of things before we closed that NEVER happened or were fixed. After we closed our builder (Chaz) acted like we never bought a home from them. We can’t even get a friendly wave as he is standing out side of our new home and makes eye contact. There was no follow up or communication with the builder to fix what he promised us before closing or within the first 30 days of our home like he promised. We were contacted by customer support at our 30 day mark and had to ask for them to fix what the builder promised us would be fixed before our first 30 days in the home. So far they are helping us but we are waiting for things to be actually fixed as we hit our 60 day mark in the home. As a first time homebuyer this made my experience stressful and upsetting. In the end we realized that the builder was lying to us about what he was going to do for us to get us to just close on the home. If I had to build a home I wouldn’t want to have Pulte do it because of our experience. I’m the end we do love our home but we wish that our home was built with more attention to detail. I don't care about some of the petty rules the company made. I needed them to accommodate my schedule and not for me to accommodate theirs. This meeting all the time was not going to fit my schedule when email and texting would work. Don't state the obvious. I can read. They were way behind getting my home done and the excuse was that the shortage of what ever was the cause. Other houses started way after mine were being completed. Work should have been diverted to finishing my home as promised. Home quality sucks and things I mentioned were a problem were never reviewed and fixed. I was so desperate to get into my home that I just moved and fixed myself (I am 69 yo female). I was informed that it was not like my house cost a million dollars and imperfection was to be expected on some things. This was my million dollar home!! ... Más

If you get the opportunity to work with Porter you won't be disappointed !! Nice floor plans and upgrades. A couple of upgrades I wish were available - hardwood in the upstairs and an upgrade on the kitchen appliances.

I love my home. Centex conceptualizes a beautiful look and appeal. My concern is workmanship it was poor all around. I never had a final walk through it was a 1001 things some major some minor that’s needed repair. Everything from the walkway to the bathrooms constant workmanship issues. And the response has been horrific I’m in two months now and still waiting for repairs to be completed. From spilling paint in carpet to, to broken cabinets in kitchen, to unleveled doors and crooked trim and every crooked placed Sheetrock and ripples in the ceiling. Its the contracted workers poor installment, as if they were unskilled. It has been so bad I’m been depressed about the entire move. It was the experience I thought I would have walking into my new home. Exceedingly disappointed. Positives are the home is gorgeous the materials appear to be quality and emphasize the beauty. Lack of detail on the property. So many things were wrong when I walked through but most of it has been fixed. Still needs painting and windows frames repaired. So many people to deal with.

Our field manager was great until he got sick and someone else came in. That promised everything was going to be fixed a week from closing I had a large hole in my powder room and holes under my stairs at my pre closing which shows no effort to inspect before pre closing ever took place. Fast forward to closing day. Nothing is done. I withheld the funds to close until 10 pm that night because that is when the field manager was able to complete everything that was wrong. I am not that nit picky person but they dropped the ball. I also had my driveway crack as soon as I drove over it. That was cracked for 2 weeks. I still don’t have screens on my windows and most bugs are entering in my house because it is not properly sealed. Beware for the overpriced amount I payed I feel like I got a Walmart great value home. ... Más

Just wish things would be fixed quickly since we’ve spent so much money on homes.

Staff are very friendly. Finishes are extremely poor. It hard not to know where to direct your concerns and everybody would say it'll get fixed, but that's is not going to happen. They hide warranty information, so they can cover their back. The grass in front and back yard that was installed was brown with the excused that was winter time. Spring is almost over and there are more than half of the grass that still brown (with the right watering). Also, a lot of big bumps all over the front and back yard. At the moment of the installation, they said that those bumps would settle, but of course, that never happened. ... Más

Many things could have been handled before settlement if they cared.

There was a lack of communication, took 5 months longer than originally planned and had multiple AC leaks within the first week. It was a horrible experience overall.

There are decent homes here.

I closed on February 14. In January, my builder acknowledged that two windows needed to be replaced and he was working on that. When we closed, we signed paperwork acknowledging that our builder was still responsible for getting our windows fixed. It’s April 13 and I am STILL waiting on this to happen. We keep asking about it and we are rarely hearing back or are told they are “looking into it”, then never hear again. We’ve had to involve higher ups just to get what was promised to us 4 months ago done.

Rushed work quality. For starters, Paint and drywall left behind on floors and carpets, texture blemishes, sod placed over the top of construction debris and very uneven lumpy/bumpy ground, trees not planted in correct locations as per my requests. Property is constantly covered in construction trash from the centex build next door, siding was damaged from neighboring construction.

Our home is great, but there are some issues with the quality. Drywall and paint were damaged and supposed to be repaired prior to moving in. We are 6 weeks later and still haven't heard back on when to expect them. We are still waiting for 4 trades to come and finish repairs that should have been done prior to closing. The warranty department takes weeks to get back to you. Just be aware that you will have to keep on them.

Lack of quality and no pride in work

I wish we had the availability to wait on closing until all the issues were addressed but it would have taken too long. There have been a mix of bigger issues, minor mistakes and comical overlooks. Since the first rain storm, I’ve been vocal about insufficient drainage with no response. Exteriors issues with siding and windows. We found a roll of sheet vinyl tucked away with our ac unit. Daily reminders and concerns for a new build.

The attention to detail throughout the house was disappointing. The door frames, baseboards & trim, backsplash, electrical outlets, drywall around windows are not quality work and appliances were damaged when installed by builder. The trim around interior doors is separating, there are dings and painted over damaged areas in the baseboard trim throughout the house, electrical outlets are not flush with the walls in many areas, drywall and paint around window frames is damaged. Expected a lot more attention to detail.

we love the lot we picked out and the model home (Rosemont) we chose. when we purchased it was a pre-package deal for that model. so we assumed that all the material was ready to go for the construction since we could not make any changes. so we re on the assumption that the target closing date would be on schedule. did not happen. it took a month longer! our congratulation day with the field mgr was not the best experience either. we did not have a lot of time to inspect the house completely with him. he new about some things that needed to be fixed, prior to us meeting with him. we found some things that stood out which he added to the list. after the closing and we moved in, we found a lot of items that needed attention. we made a list and sent it in. by the way, i mentioned just after closing that none of the entry doors are locking properly with the dead bolt. they come in and adjusted but they are still not correct. you need to close the door part way than lock with dead bolt. if you close all the way the dead bolt doesn't work. we have a lot of paint issue's and dents in wall's. we feel that everything was rushed thru to complete, considering they have several houses they were to complete, which is ongoing. to finish this review, this shows the poor quality of workmanship and prior inspection that should have been done before our final walk-thru day. also i have requested paint samples for the walls and trim for the interior of the house so we can start touching up the paint issue's, this was back in beginning of january, no response. mind you, we love the house and made the correct choice for our retirement ... During the initial phase, the information provided was done in a professional manner and maintained throughout the home building process. Once we actually moved in, we did not expect to have to deal with concerns brought up before we moved in. The follow up-seemed like we were bothering them to correct workmanship that was needing repair. We asked to meet at a time that worked with our work schedule and were told the only time available was Monday - Friday, 8-4pm. We altered our schedule to meet the times provided. We like the house just not the nuances of having repairs needed on a brand new house. Not sure I’d buy another new house. ... Más

I expected better quality in materials, we recently had a water leak outside in the sprinkler system and they took over two weeks to fix it.

We had quite a few issues, some that still have not been corrected and now more issues have come up, such as our drip system is not working correctly and I had to shut off the main water supply because even in the off position the system was still running. There are areas that need paint touched up and we were told we would be receiving a touch up paint kit to do this ourselves. There is a dent in one of our garage panels that has yet to be addressed and the pop outs on the exterior of the home are missing. Apparently this was missed during the building process.

I recently purchased a new home at Carters Station. The home was not ready at closing. The home “celebration” was a disaster. Much of what was supposed to be fixed wasn’t and still hasn’t been corrected, even though I closed over a month ago. There are still serious issues with the ceilings, floor, dry wall, paint, nails left in the carpet, leaking facet, etc. The home was a mess upon move in, with TONS of sanded dry wall patching debris in the carpet, staples left on the stairs that my kids stepped on. Honest opinion- if I had to do it again, I would have bought elsewhere. There is just no pride In workmanship and no quality control on the finishing work. Cody Charley ... Más
