Everything was smooth till after I did your survey and now it’s like pulling teeth . Still have things that need to be done that we’re addressed before closing and were never done . “Fixed”

Our experience with Centex was not a great one. A lot of options weren't available and we went through several different build managers. We were shown a model home and there were a lot of features in the model home and were not told that those feature would not be in our home. The main issues we had was with their in house underwriting department with a lot of communication errors.

This builder put too small of an AC unit on my home and we are having CONSTANT issues with it. The unit struggles just to keep the home at 75 degrees. Now we are having a lot of condensation and what appear to be mold either growing or about to start. They always send a tech out with Houck AC and they put a “bandaid” fix on it and tell me everything is running properly. Sure it’s running properly, but it’s too small for this home. I have 1800 sqft and a 2 ton ac unit, it’s just not cooling the home. Also I had an unpleasant conversation with a warranty manager where he pretty much told me “I get what I pay for” with my $300,000 home. Currently looking to make a report with BBB and TDLR. ... Más

I have repeatedly had to request repairs on a sprinkler system that never worked right, broken heads, pipe busted in the ground leaking water, HUGE water bill, spoke with, emailed, wrote work orders 3X...and still NOT FIXED. I HAD TO PAY A $149 water bill this morning FOR JULY 15TH-AUGUST 15TH. The other orders, or complaints took forever to address as well. When we met before closing, we were assured that all items would be handled promptly. Someone keeps dropping the ball. It is hard to trust anyone at their word now.

Loved the design of this home the lavender, but looking back there were other builders workman ship was probably better. With spec homes I guess are the bottom of the bsrrel

Closing was little rush. Closing cost numbers were revealed just 1 hour before closing time. Promotional incentives like refrigerator is not as advertised. There were gutters installed to the model house. Unfortunately they are installed to my unit. This is my first purchase experience and I was not satisfied. I feel like I should have gone with MI homes in the same community. But it was late as I have already committed to centex

I recently purchased what is now my second centex home, the first one had very minor issues, but this recent purchase, which we closed on 10/27/2023 has been a major disaster. We were in the home less then 48 hours when we found out the builder never installed the clothes washer correctly which led to a major water issue into the walls. We further found out when warranty came to look that the tile had never been fully completed under the washer which allowed the water to escape and go from the second level to the first as the water leaked for over 24 hours unnoticed behind the unit into the walls. Further issues, punch list items which were promised to be rectified by the end of the closing weekend still haven't been corrected, our issued house keys, which we were asked not to use until the punch list was completed so workers could access the home, don't work and the only reason we found that out is because our power went out and blew the breaker when we plugged a single TV into a spare bedroom, which led to no power in multiple rooms, a bathroom, foyer, exterior, or garage for almost 3 days. Now about 20 minutes ago when I turned the light on in the master bedroom, the power again shorted out the home, and when I reset the breaker box sparks and flame shot out the switch and tripped the breaker again. No power once again. We have been in the home less than a month and nothing but problems and excuses. Not to mention other issues like the home the morning of walk through not having been cleaned and even when we moved in the next day, still not having been cleaned. Another issue is a trade did come to fix tile in master bath, and left a blood trail from the shower to the sink, and it permanently stained the shower, when we called we were told to use bleach, well it didn't work. 3vweeks in we have cracks in dry wall in garage corner connecting to concrete block. Have found nails and screws sticking through carpet. Paint splatter on bathroom tile floor and window that was never cleaned up. I will never recommend or build with this company again. I would love to know who inspected the home, because the multiple inspections the company completed were obviously rushed or over looked. The best line of all throughout this from the building supervisor "I don't have time to sit at your home and fix it because I have 20 other homes to complete." This evening over 30% of the home lost power again when circuits shorted out from turning hall lights on and no way to reset it since nobody from Centex or the electric company will not respond. It's always something with my new house sigh when you get them on the phone it's I'm so sorry for the inconvenience and still take weeks to fix the problem.

Home did not include any window trim- specifically stool and apron. This looks very unfinished and leaves the homebuyer with a big cost to cover to make their home look finished. No gutters on home. Additional cost to homebuyer. FLAT white paint on walls. Horrible. One week in the home we have scuffs everywhere. Who puts flat paint on main walls? Thin walls, we so clearly hear the neighbors outside speaking in a normal volume. 8’ ceilings downstairs looks cheap. Front door HORRIBLY painted looks so ugly. Door is cheap lightweight quality. We will need to replace. Another cost to us. General craftsmanship of the home is poor. Air leaks around doors. Cement in main plumbing line. Texture on walls inconsistent. When I was showed the show house, everything looked awesome. We would get all the same amenities, countertops, cabinets, and level of detail in our home. It was fine till a week before the closing and we were doing our “blue tape walkthrough” with our Construction Manager Justin. The whole house was covered in blue tape. You’d think I’d be exaggerating but for every wall there was at least 20 pieces of blue tape pointing to 20 different problems. It ranged from brand new appliances being scuffed and scratched up to drawers not even having the correct items to close. We also had one spot on the first floor that was a whole section of different flooring color. You could easily tell. There were staples also shooting through all carpeted areas, especially on the stairs, and paint on various pieces of carpet. When my brother in law began to bring up these issues, Justin talked over him and kept telling him he was wrong. Oh did we mention our inspector caught that the AC wasn’t cooling down the house? Justin says it’s within their 22 degree range and it’s fine. Turns out we have a 3 ton unit for 2 floors when two people live here that physically get extremely sick if it isn’t below 73 inside and out. I was feeling faint and nauseous by the time the walkthrough was over. I was feeling extremely upset and unsure about the work that was done. I wanted to back out. My family insisted that we could make this home our own. When we did our last walk through (at 9am in the morning after an hour and a half drive to get there) the house didn’t look any different except holes in the walls were fixed and the drawers now worked. There were still staples coming out of the stairs and there was still paint on the ground. I kicked up a fuss and Justin told me there was nothing they could do. Signing was fine, but when we moved in the following day, we found out they hadn’t cleaned. There was dust everywhere, we found nails and screws in the backyard (where my 16 month old nephew plays), and our driveway was all messed up from the big trucks coming and going. We have a giant chunk currently missing still. We also have a huge and serious bug infestation. Little roach looking bugs and ants everywhere! We literally signed for this house less than 24 hours prior! Justin told us they cleaned! We’ve been battling them every since. I have been doing pest control as we want to find a good company. Oh yes there is still staples and nails on the stairs. My bathtub is scuffed. I start to feel really bad about signing on this over priced pile of staples and nails. 2 weeks later - the house is falling apart. 2 of the shower curtain rods spontaneously fell down. Thankfully one of them was when no one was there. The other though almost hit my nephew in the head, if not for my sister putting her hand there to block the way. We had to take her to urgent care because it felt broken when my dad (who is a registered EMT) was examining it thoroughly between her screaming her head off. Thankfully it was just severely brushed and had indented her hand pretty bad. To this day touching her hand there makes her wince. No idea how long it’ll take but imagine if that was a toddler!!! They just put in tension rods. Not legit rods at all!! I could get these from Walmart for $15!!! Justin says we can text him if we need stuff fixed. All of us text him and he never answers. He gets transferred to Conroe sometime next week. The bathrooms in both levels are starting to have pealing problems with the flooring behind the toilet and bug problems! Even if we bug bombed the house it wouldn’t be enough. We were cleaning the house, trying to get rid of bugs when we pulled out the bottom drawer from the over and found stuff from the builders under there! Also, the flooring underneath is warped and touching the bottom of the stove!!!! You know what my customer service manager named “Megan” told me? “I have the same house of you and my flooring isn’t warped”. Okay Megan. That’s your house, not mine! That same day I put in a ticket for fixing the flooring, a piece of the crown molding from the upper cabinets came apart and fell down. It actually hit me in the arm as I was trying to clean up something on the counter. After putting in the ticket and Megan calling me back, she tells me that they only work till 5pm. Well great! I’m off at 3:15 and can get home by 3:30. We can meet then and go over the house stuff. She tells me that won’t work for her because she is already off work by then and will have to do something called a “Tele Link” I believe. Wait so you work till 5 but can’t drive 10 minutes to a house at 3:30 to just go over the issues? Sure. She never calls me back when I try to reschedule due to emergency doctors appointments. THEN she calls me the day of, AN HOUR LATE, and tries to start the Tele Link. She says it was an emergency but she at least could’ve texted as she has done so before. I work two jobs and my second one starts at 5pm. I tell her she’ll have to call me back on Wednesday or sometime through Thursday or Friday. She tells me “oh 5pm Wednesday”. 5pm rolls around. Guess when she calls? 5:44!! Seriously!! That’s so freaking unprofessional. She also talks to me like I’m a child, an idiot, and that I know nothing. This is my 3rd house. I know this process. She demands that I be home for the work to happen, even though I’m a teacher and have limited days off. When she initially tried to schedule the appointment, I told her “I have to do anytime after 3:30pm”. She comes back with “Okay so Tuesday at 9:30am?” She didn’t listen either just like Justin. This whole house was built with bad materials, with people who obviously don’t care about quality, or taking care of someone else’s home, and after you buy it good luck!! You’re stuck with this shoddy house with lacking customer service AND promises that were broken. I will NEVER buy a Pulte/Centex home ever again!!! ... Más

I really didn't want to write this, but this has truly been a very bad experience with this home purchase. I have come to realize that big business is bad business all the way around. That includes Centex reps and their perspective contractors. Have a good day.

Trevor( our project manager) has promised to resolve issues upon closing that are still happening. Afterwards he said to deal with the insurance. Make sure you don’t close until everything looks great or be ready to deal with these types of issues.

Centex was horrible to work with. Not putting customers 1st. Houses have tons of issues. And warranty is a pain to submit and vendors refuse to work with customer unless work order is sent from centex.

Very poor experience as well as home not up to expectations..

Since I’ve been in my home. Looking at the craftsmanship and the materials everything is on the lowest level. Things were promise from the final inspection that were never completed. Called the builder who was my only contact during the building process over two weeks ago still waiting on a return call.

If I had to do it all again I wouldn’t purchase a home under the centex brand name. The homes are cheap and a lot of corners were cut wen building this home. I am just glad we have the warranty to fix the issues

There seem to be several quality issues- Landscaping- the sod refuses to grow, it was installed already brown and dead and has not grown or turned green regardless of watering. I would say at least 1/4 of the lawn was not actual sod but just grass clippings placed on top of dirt. - piping leaked under the sinks. Needed to have plumber fix. Took a few days - electrical issues with the water heater. Took almost 2 weeks to rectify. - it also appears the doors in the house were not undercut- they are approx. 1 1/2”-2” above the finished floor- all the doors. - we were told the home would be a “smart home” and yet the underground wires for internet are not complete and will not be complete for at least another month. The sales team gave us a Hot Spot puck, but that only provides enough for minimal wifi. So we don’t know when we will get actual wired wifi. - paint overspray all over the place from painters - concrete surfaces gave globs of mortar that were never chipped off. Builder refuse to communicate to fix issues in the house after occupancy. Garage has cracks in the floor, unfinish concrete interior borders. garage roll up door does not sit flat on the concrete floor. you can see light thru the garage roll up door. Hot water tank AC drips on the garage floor, receptacles and switches in the house does not work . dish washer leaks, rear glass door no handle, sloppy paint job. Pulte issued me a warrant

Slow responsiveness on fixing issues.

My first home buying experience was relatively a smooth an easy process but I wanted something updated and decided to purchase a new construction home. The sales process was phenomenal, Daniel was very helpful and friendly. He remained that way throughout the entire process. Once under contract, it became a totally different story with Pultes lender and the construction manager. While I had been pre-approved by my own lender, I decided to take advantage of the incentive that was offered, if you used Pultes lender. I was uneasy about using their lender based off of the reviews of other buyers, prior experiences. After I was pre-approved, Sandra the Mortgage Consultant was not eager to keep me updated on their mortgage rates. The rates continued to climb and she was not being forthcoming with information about the rate increases. Therefore, I followed my gut and decided to use my lender. I did not want to fall in to their game and end up paying more than I needed. The initial construction manager (I believe Ron) was responsive and emailed weekly updates regarding my homes building progress. However, he left and I was informed By Andrew that he had taken over. Andrew was moody and not customer friendly. He seemed agitated at any questions that you asked and he did not fix all items identified during the final walk-through. My closing was delayed due to the construction manager turning in documents to the county last minute. This caused a delay with my movers and furniture deliveries and costing me additional fees. However, Pulte did cover it and I appreciate that. Upon move in, the microwave didn’t work, closet rack fell completely out of the wall, the window in the master room didn’t fit and when I reached out to Andrew, he basically acted as if it wasn’t his problem anymore (poor customer service and no accountability with him). All in all, I like the home but if I knew the construction process was as going to be a headache and I probably would have selected another builder. But Daniel and the title company and my closer were pleasant and made up for the construction process mishaps where they could. ... Más

Garage paint was chipped, brought it up twice and was told someone would be out yo fix it and no one ever showed up. Dryer breaker keeps tripping. House is not of quality for amount paid for

I would advise anyone to make sure a thorough review or walk through is conducted, and areas needing to be corrected are addressed prior to closing. Our overall buying experience was good, it’s the quality and attention to detail, esp. the workmanship which is the problem.

Several issues throughout the buying/building process. While CJ, the sales agent, was great The overall process was cumbersome. For starters we went into contract back in August of 2021 and did not close until May of 2022. This would have been acceptable had the craftsmanship of the home reflected the time spent waiting on the build. Unfortunately it does not. I monitored the progress of the home and each time a trade came to the home they were in and out in a day or two. The trades are still rushing these homes as if they are on a tight build schedule, which they are not. Several quality issues along the way, and although they were addressed, there are things that were done to a poor standard that I now have to deal with warranty to attempt and correct. Our brand new home flooded 24 hours after we moved in due to the test plug in the main drain out not being removed after the stress eat on the home plumbing. Again, another failure of your trades and your construction managers. It then took 6 weeks to get everything repaired, and I am still having to deal with subpar craftsmanship and have things redone with more time spent. I’ve had to take numerous days off of work dealing with all of this and still my house is not back the way it was when I bought it. My family and I are so fatigued from having to deal with all of this I finally told Tim, the warranty manager, to hold off on further repairs just to give us a break. To date I have had repair people in our home more days then not. I’m still dealing with improperly seal glass in my master shower, something they already sent the glass company out to repair, yet it was not repaired. The list of unacceptable workmanship and material goes on and on. More and more things pop up and My family and I are so frustrated we simply don’t have it in us to deal with it all. Several items that were supposed to be done prior to closing were not and unfortunately due to this market I really had no choice but to move forward with closing on this home. If we could sell this home and be done with it we would but unfortunately that is not an option. Although Tim has assured me he will address all of the issues I have my doubts. This is not a knock on Tim but simply a lack of trust in the trades and in your process. Throughout all of this there has been no compensation for all my lost time, the stress this has put on my family, and the overall disaster that buying a centex home has been. I wanted a new construction home to be the first person to walk in and enjoy the home. Instead I’ve been here for a month and it looks like 5 years. The paint is terrible. They used flat paint and every time you touch it it becomes marked in some way. I tried to wipe it off and the paint came off. The plumbing fixture weren’t attached to the wall and the air vents not flushed. A hole in the wall that wasn’t there during the prewalk and still hadn’t been repaired. I understand that COVID slowed things down but this is just poor quality and overall sloppy build. I’m disappointed.
