For better or worse another's experience may vary ...my wife and I started our Drees process in September 2021. We took possession of our home Oct 31 2022. The biggest delay was 4 months for windows. Drees would like us to believe it was a supply chain issue however every other house around us started building after we did and got their windows seemingly on time but certainly no one else waited 4 months. Horrible craftsmanship. The builder is not taking responsibility. Won’t answer my questions. I closed and the house wasn’t even done. Took an extra month to be considered done. Don’t buy from drees. I and countless others have had a magnitude of problems.

Total lack of craftsmanship in our home - no pride in workmanship. No follow-through with site manager. Incorrect materials used, walls and trim work are curved, light switches wired randomly, no insulation in basement, floors are not even, brick and mortar sloppy and ruined porches, standing water in duct work, poor quality of lumber used, etc.

I have been in this house for two months now and still have unresolved issues. Not sure why it takes so long to get things corrected. I am not interested in excuses as that is what they are - just excuses. I have an unresolved kitchen cabinet issue that should have been taken care of before closing. We are supposed to have a tree planted on the property and that is still not done. I was not aware that I would have to take care of the paint touch up issues myself. I have a crack in the dining room ceiling that I was told would be taken care of in a year, so I have to live with this for a year. ...

Beautiful home as long as you don't look too close

While we love our home and its location, our experience building with Drees was horrible. From the salesperson lying to us about the lots that were sold, to our project manager who did not follow through on most things, we have spent several hours, days and nights trying to get Drees to follow through on outstanding items in our home. Our 60 day list had over a hundred items that need addressed. I'm hopeful they follow through.

Document every conversation and stay on top of everything throughout the process. Inspect the home in DETAIL before you close. We did not feel as if our concerns were heard during the build and many are still being completely disregarded now that we have closed. Best of luck!

We still have blue tape all around our house on things that aren’t fixed. We are missing a cabinet in our basement bar because the cabinet installers left a broken cabinet, like we wouldn’t notice. When we opened the cabinet door, it just fell off. Also, our flooring was put in so terrible that we have lumps and bumps all over the place. Their vendor selection is really poor. We’ve had multiple issues just in the first 4 months of living here that include but are not limited to: a gas leak, sewage backup in the basement, foundation cracks with water leaks, dirty carpet upon move-in, unfixable mold buildup in grout, and a custom built-in in our living room that still isn’t complete. It has all in all been a very stressful experience.

The timeline Drees Homes provided was not properly followed. The materials used all over the house is below standard. The Drees financing is another dilemma and headache to deal with. Overall, personally I would not buy again from Drees Homes.

Don’t give time expectations that are unrealistic considering materials delay. Options, like roof colors and house are poor!!! Black roofs should be banned in souther states like Florida. It was very easy to go in, sign and get a preapproval, but after that is where it gets interesting: - Market Manager quiets responding to texts and emails. - Mortgage officer leaves First Equity Mortgage and does not tell the borrowers. No email returns, no VM messages, nothing! Found out 2 months before closing that Mortgage Lender left. Had to reapply and start the process all over. - First Builder was awesome. We deeply regret not becoming more educated about how language used by realtors, builder-affiliated loan officers, purchase agreements, and even walk-through documentation can be framed to appear routine while hiding details—like room measurements that include walls and staircases rather than living space, or fees like rate locks disclosed only after commitment—leaving us paying for things we never truly received, yet always explained away with polished ease. This experience has cost us far more than we ever expected, emotionally and financially.

We have had several problems that are not fixed, like water pressure is so low that we can use only one shower at a time. Or watering the yard, we can water either the front yard or back yard not both. If a dishwasher or washer is running we cannot flush the toilet??? We recently moved into a newly build Drees Home. The materials used in the house are very cheap. If a car drives by, the entire house shakes. It's very clear that they used the most inexpensive materials to save money on the build. The neighborhood is a loud construction site even though our street is completely finished and they assured us there would be no noise in our area. Would not recommend - poor quality craftsmanship and unreliable contractors who install and use broken and damaged materials. To get anything done correctly, you have to escalate up the chain of command. Terrible. Stay on top of everything as they do cut corners.

Drees provides a product that is low in quality, but high in price. They mislead you every step of the way just to get your money and make promises that they do not follow through on. Their customer service lacks luster as does their upper management. Customer concerns and complaints are not taken care of and you are left to deal with it. I give Drees a fat 0 on everything above. I've had problems since day I moved in the most major being extensive mold. Drees has been unhelpful from the beginning. I would never recommend them to anyone and dissuade anyone thinking about it with my experience. Buying a Drees home is the biggest regret of my life.
