Buying a new home can be stressful. Highland Homes did a great job of addressing issues promptly. I would recommend to family and friends.

Everything is good, but felt priced extra for home

There were some things that were supposed to get done off the final walk through but they were not. We are still getting those things done over months later after moving in.

Great experience with the sales team.

This is our second time building a home. Everything wasn’t perfect, however it was much better than our prior experience. Everyone we worked with were genuinely good people and anything that wasn’t right was corrected. Definitely a great experience!!

I had a great experience buying a highland home . it was a smooth experience right from signing the contract to closing the home . all he issues raised by me before closing and after the closing has been duly followed up and fixed by the warranty manager. Overall i had a great experience

We are reasonably pleased. The 7 day in advance of close walk through to point out imperfections and then nothing after close is totally unreasonable

We’re enjoying our new home and really are impressed with the neatness of the neighborhood common areas !!

There a few issues with appliances and interior finishes. Const rep was very helpful in correcting issues

A lot of issues after the fact

The overall experience was pretty good. The builder was very quick at responding to questions. The painters could be more careful. The people who install the quarter round at the base of a kitchen island were not very precise in cutting it to the right length and as a result there were gaps between the sections. Also the flooring people cut a piece of the flooring too short so now there is a place where there is a gap of space between the flooring and the island in the kitchen.

We needed to find a house as we had sold our house in Dallas and were moving to Austin to be near our children and grandchildren. So we had to take what was offered us. With the exception of getting solid core doors, we were not allowed to request any upgrades or modifications. The house is acceptable but not our dream home. We are thinking about purchasing a lot in Parten for Highland Homes to build on. Your floor plan is very nice, and we love the single story versus 2 levels. However, there are several minor upgrades and re-design that we would love to incorporate. My brother is a custom home builder so we were spoiled. Highland Homes is a good value for the money. ... Highlands builders are competent and build high quality homes .

As a home buying experience Highland was able to answer any questions, great neighborhood and amenities. Some work was an issue in the beginning, but was quickly fixed! Overall, very satisfied with our home.

Overall great design and high quality but there have been a few issues that have come up. Most have been resolved in a professional and timely manner or hopefully will be soon. One outstanding item that we discovered was an issue with the property line and placement of the retaining wall and fence. Unfortunately, Highland was made aware of the issue but never brought it to our attention. We actually discovered the issue while hiring a pool company and a company to install and whole house generator. I brought this up with Highland management three weeks ago and am still waiting for resolution or a plan for resolution. With how tight the lots are it is a material issue for us, but we are hopeful that Highland will resolve the issue soon so we can continue to get the work done and enjoy our beautiful new home. I can't stress enough the great design and overall quality of the home which is what made us buy it. Good experience. Project manager was great. He was and still remains very responsive to any inquiries. I have enjoyed my purchase, other than one event, which was not the fault of the builders.

Our experience with both Seth and Lesli has been excellent. The quality of work by the sub contractors has been spotty. Some have had to return many times to get it right. Quite frustrating at times!

Highland Homes was very easy to work with from the sales process to the construction management. We are happy with the home to this point.

We had an amazing time with our Highland Home building experience. Our construction manager, Jonathan, was great, despite the supply chain issues we dealt with in 2021-2022. He is kind, funny, and really knows the industry! We do think things could have been accelerated but with the crazy market, I can only imagine what the builders, realtors, and everyone else involved had to deal with. Our sales person, Kristi, was phenomenal and just sweet in all ways. I could tell the ENTIRE time she wanted what was best for our sweet, young family!! The worst part was our Design Center experience. Unfortunately, Highland does not have their own Design Center & uses IBB Design in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metro. The people at IBB are very rude and NOT reflective of Highland as a builder themselves. This would be my biggest recommendation- have a Highland Design Center!! I would consider building with Highland again, but may want to understand who their designers are prior to signing. Yes, the designer was that bad that I would not want to build with Highland again for that reason. Otherwise, I LOVE Highland Home's floor plans, value, and that they are employee owned! ... Más

Building a home during a pandemic was going to be a challenge under any circumstances. While our build took quite a bit longer to complete than originally thought, we believe Highland was able to do it the fastest of probably any builder at the time. The most important thing to note is that at the end of this process, we still adore our project manager, Matt, and salesperson/assistant to anything we ever need, Lesli, and that says a lot! We consider them both dear friends. It was so reassuring to always feel that the people working with us were on our team, they advocated for us because they cared about what we cared about. Any issues that arise can be handled well when you have a team like this. And now that we’ve lived in the home for a few months, as things come up (and they always will) Highland is prompt to address any concerns. Our only lingering concern is the amount of construction debris, plastic and trash that is leftover and strewn across the beautiful acreage adjacent to our home. They of course tried to contain this but wind carries trash away and the field really needs to be cleaned up. We bought this lot because of the beautiful views and they don’t fill us with joy like they did before we built here because of the trash….there are two levels of fencing separating us from the fields or we would clean it ourselves. We are still hopeful it’s part of the plan that this will be cleaned up. But overall we are thrilled with our home and would choose Highland again. ... Más

Excellent experience, would definitely recommend it to others

The 40 ft lot is just too small. The house needs just a few feet more width for the rooms to not be awkward sized. The garages are very small. There are a lot of nice features as well. Builders is very responsive to warranty requests.

My experience with my new home is good and could be better if the list of pending items are not so high! When I bought the house, the seller mentioned the inspection process and every item that was not in accordance with my expectation would be fixed. I walked through the house, and we found lots of items that needed to be fixed and unfortunately lots of the items were not solved and even after 1 month, we still have items to be fixed. My second point is related to house cleaning. The carpets, garage and attic were very dirty with dust, and material left behind by the crew. My expectation is that I will receive the house cleaned. One of my frustrations is regarding the sprinklers, because when I bought it, it was mentioned that I could manage the sprinklers through the app on my phone, however it was not mentioned that I need to buy the network card. It was set an expectation and when I wanted to see working, it was communicated that I needed to buy a card to see working, so the expectation that was set created a feeling of frustration and disappointment. My last comment is related to the good Job that Andres is doing to fix all pending items that I have to work on my house. My only suggestion is Hinghlands implement an inspection process with superior quality because some of the rework can be minimized and overall client satisfaction will be better. ... Más

This was our first home and the experience was smooth and seamless. Highland was very responsive/supportive in resolving issues post closure. The builder was very accommodative. Overall it was a good experience.

The look and build of house looks great, but the fixes that need to be adressed are still been worked on from last 2 months
