The overall experience was longer than promised but worth the wait. I love my new home and community. The Superintendent, Dan, is amazing. He went above and beyond for me and my family.

Needs improvement on the quality of finishings upon turnover making sure that everything is finished.Needs to update some options and designs for more modern customize look.Needs improvement on addressing issues un a tumely manner.

I have not receive any update on 30 day visit. I have a broken window that has not been fixed. The tree upfront does not have poles to hold it up, when everyone else has it. I have asked for information about HOA and nothing has come back.

About a 12 month process, supposed to be 10. Lots of items not complete upon close, some still not corrected. Supposed to have a 30 day follow up, but have not heard from anyone

House came out decent. A lot of things where rushed. Dry wall was rushed, painting was rushed and even the cabinet install was rushed. Now these are all Issues that are being addressed with warranty. I just don’t understand how things were so rushed yet the house took a full year to build. Before the pandemic houses would take 5-6months. That and a lot of the workers used were under the table paid and illegal. Specially The painters. And the kitchen island wall has waves in it and not straight because it was rushed as well. Some of the vents for AC are crooked as well because it was rushed. I won’t get answers and I’m already in the house and things are getting fixed. But with all the delays and extra time they had to do the house these things should not have been rushed. That and I also had broken roofing tiles. ... Más

We moved into our new townhome in early Sept. Overall, the price we paid for the square footage/location was reasonable considering inflation and the housing market. The KB sales team is also a pleasure to work with. However, we have ran into multiple issues with our new home (including a major water leak from the bottom of our master shower which is resulting in our entire shower having to be re-done (tile ripped, new base pan, rotting wood in ceiling, etc). We have also experienced smaller issues such as pilling carpet on the stairway and a loose doorknob. The warranty team is attempting to resolve the issues however it is still very frustrating as a homeowner of a brand new home. I do want to give a shout-out to Jenny from the sales team at Liberty Station. She is always checking in on us to see how we are doing even months after closing on the home. Overall, recommend KB however we are not the only townhome in the neighborhood experiencing issues with our home. (Others experiencing appliance issues, etc.) ... Más

Our experience with KB Homes has been bad. As new homeowner you come in with an expectation to later be disappointed. If you are looking for quality, this should not be your first option.

The Kb team responded quickly to our concerns. A water leak was discovered before closing that was addressed quickly. Another water leak was discovered upon inspection. Inspection showed the water pressure regulator, for our new home, is not working and the actual water pressure is double the normal one. We reported that to Kb. 2 Toilet tanks were cracked and leaking. One was replaced quickly. Plumbing contractor tried to address the other one in different ways resulting in more leaks and delays. Almost 2 weeks later, we found that the water pressure regulator was not fixed and the pressure was around 120. The Kb team was responsive but their plumbing contractor was really bad and negligent. ... Más

overall experience was ok and workmanship was somewhat sloppy and looked rushed. Lots of small details were misses and in turn becomes a headache to have it fixed.

They were great during the first month but after we were having issues already. It seemed like they rushed with the building of the house.

Recently purchased home. The low voltage thermostat controls for the HVAC were mis-wired. As a result the upstairs zone controller worked the baffle for the downstairs and the downstairs zone controller worked the upstairs. Easy enough mistake for an installer to make, but 100% should have been caught immediately when the installer tested to make sure both units were working correctly, which clearly was not done. Took KB over a week to have repair addressed. Upon fixing this problem, I looked up in the attic where the technician was working and noticed a flexible duct that had been installed incorrectly. The duct was wedged between a framing 2x4 and the roof and as a result was collapsed which restricted air flow by at least 50%. This explained why the flow of air downstairs was so low compared with the upstairs. Both of these issues are resultant from shoddy workmanship and more importantly poor quality control. There is NO way an inspector approved of the final HVAC installation in the attic with the mis-installed duct work. The technician left black hand prints all over the attic panel opening, easily avoidable or at least greatly minimized by wiping hands on a rag before coming down. KB homes rep was nice and said all would be taken care of and repaired, including painting attic opening. But none of this was necessary if the job was done right and inspected properly. And every time KB has to come out and fix something, like painting an attic opening, I have to take off time from work to meet them there. So even if they fix these issues, and now I wonder how much more I should inspect… I am inconvenienced. ... Más

Overall KB has a great process of getting you to commit to buying a home. The sales team in our case Lizette was wonderful to work with, she routinely provided meaningful updates and progress reports for the home. Most importantly, you could tell that she enjoyed being the point of contact for the project. Design Center - Jennifer did a great job of listening and providing solutions for what could be done given the timing of the project. Customer Service - Justin has provided a positive experience and is cleaning up a lot of unfinished matters that he did not create and are not typical warranty repairs issues. Financing - was straight forward. We used our own lender, but no major complaints with the finance team. Construction Services- I like to assume positive intent, however the team is not customer friendly and lack the ability to successfully finish a job. In my opinion closing on a home is not finishing the job if you have missing lights, the wrong light fixtures, have workers in your house every other day to resolve items that could have been addressed several months ago. We had a home inspection, provided the report to construction and we still have incomplete items on the list over a month later. Every week we have lived in the home, we have had workers here as well - paint issues, wood stain issues, cabinet issues, dishwasher issues, lighting, garage door opener, flooring issues, drywall issues, plumbing issues, stucco issues, kitchen hood vent issues, fireplace screen issues, and missing sprinkler covers, We had to inform construction they installed the wrong window per plan design. We had to inform construction that a bathroom door was installed behind a toilet and it couldn’t close. If I report an issue with a dishwasher and I’m told the issue is resolved, but yet the appliance is never plugged in, water safety valve removed, and actually tested - please don’t tell me it’s resolved. They have attempted to get better - John has stepped in, but if I worked at KB I’d come out to my job sites and check on my operations. Some construction employees should never interface with a customer ever again. How many homeowners are having the same experiences. How much rework is necessary? You need a team of professional (women and men) to inspect your homes prior to asking a customer to close. Every week, I find new issues that have to reported to customer service. This is simply not fair to me and my daily to make ourselves available several days a week to get issues resolved. We hope to get to a place where we enjoy our new home, it just hasn’t been smooth sailing thus far. ... Más

It was a great experience with buying my new home. Everyone was a pleasure to work with. The only minor issues I’ve noticed after moving in was sloppy caulking and painting in certain areas. They could really use some new construction workers, most of them are lazy!

Overall, my home buying experience was good (said with mixed feelings). I think having been in my house for a bit, I was able to think about things, the process, what I was happy and unhappy with, etc. As of this writing, interest rates are almost 6% and I was able to get a pre-spec'd home before rates got out of control. I think I left this experience feeling, only okay. Here is why: Sales was great. KBHS (in-house lender) was great. But buying such an expensive home, I was thinking I would be able to modify somethings to give it a more personalized touch. Nope - things were really set in stone. I was given some closing costs credits (so long as I went with KBHS) and there was a lot discount. I jokingly asked for more as rates were on the rise and I couldn't lock for 30 or 60 days out but I was made to feel ungrateful that I got what I got cause no one else got extra incentive (it was only $5k more). The crazy thing is anyone buying a home now as of late June - you hear people getting $15-40K or builders buying down rates for buyers since no one is buying homes now. I actually had to use my credits to buy down the rate. So while people are getting bought down rates ( by Lennar, TriPoint, Seeno, etc - I don't know what or IF KB is offering anything since they don't advertise it). Albeit, while I should in theory have a lower rate than what is offered now, I think its a minimal difference and buyers today can get a home spec'd to their liking. So I question if I should of waited? cause I don't LOVE my home as you should. I like it, I am appreciative to own a home. But I'm having to spend MORE money now to fix things I don't like about it doesn't feel right. Quality of workmanship, Value for price paid: having bought a pre-spec'd home, I was essentially paying for what someone at the design center chose, and I so wish I could redo what they did because the style is just not modern at all (Think Grandma's house). Quality? I've had a few contractors come by for bids to fix things and builders like KB contract a lot of these jobs so people come in, do a job, next home. Guest bath - was called out that they should of caulked the shower. A exterior house painter said my down drain pipe was twisted and took me to similar homes saying theirs was fine. My AC unit is crooked and missing brackets for the cable. The list goes on but it doesn't make me feel great knowing my house wasn't to par. Responsiveness to issues. So far, its been good. Whenever I catch something, the warranty guy will get something on the books for something to be fixed. So now I just feel bad to call them up to fix things the contractors have called out. But they have been great to deal with. Basically, value for price paid...I feel like my home should of been less. Also, random side discovery, I always assumed all homes had 8 feet ceilings on 2nd floors (my parents home of the 80's did)...BUT with colleagues buying now, Lennar, Senno, TriPoint-Point, etc offer 9' ceilings both up and downstairs (And lets be honest, some offer smart door bells, Wifi mesh systems, Better more modern looking cabinets in colors) for around the same price of what I paid. I wish I had taken more time to look to be honest. The Value isn't there as I reflect. I know its trivial to some but 9' ceilings feel more grand (I am also a tall individual). Overall, I feel very mixed about this home buying experience. Should I have waited? Builders are giving you more NOW with higher rates BUT are also offering lower rate incentives they must be paying for. Honestly, do your due diligence and really look for a home you love. Buying a home, it's an emotional experience. It's an expensive one. Make sure you LOVE your home. Emotions and rising rates got the best of me. Was service great with KB? Yea. no one has a crystal ball on how rates would be or what builders would be scrambling to do now to keep buyers from pulling out of contract. Read reviews, watch review videos. Told 9 months to build it took 12 months. I spent more than expected going to the showroom top dollars on top of purchase of home not including land expense just be aware of separate charges

High cost - Finishing was not good

Unfortunately we purchased this house at the end of 2021 during an intense real estate market. Meaning, we paid an excessive amount for a house that would have been 100k or even 150k less a couple of years ago. You’d hope that with the insane cost of this house that work would be done well. We have so many workmanship issues. It’s hard to blame KB for all of it because we do understand it’s hard to find good trades. But geez it’s been one headache after another. The construction manager has been very responsive so it’s nothing against him. However our older home never had these issues of shoddy work. It’s been stressful! ... Más

Great experience with sales team. A few outstanding warranty items that need to be addressed, but great communication with warranty team so far.

The overall experience (deposit through key delivery) had its ups and downs. The initial loan approval process was confusing and required multiple engagements to clear up what we wanted in terms of mortgage product options and terms. The build ran over planned time by several months. The initial walk through (approximately one week prior to closing) was unsatisfactory. We had multiple items that required repair, missing items, or general workmanship issues. After multiple re-inspections we did receive a quality product.

All was good before signing the house agreement but after that we were all lost no one reached out to see what is pending with house touch up works. We are really sad about it I hope they can improve the following with new home buyer at least till first month

Not a bad experience but still have multiple unresolved issues 2 months after move-in.

We have some issues on our home like the paints are wearing off,looks like cheap paints electric plugs not working and called about it but still now we havent got any response and havent fix it yet

Others builder 's material and floor plan are better
