Quality of the homes isn’t the best and checks are not properly completed prior to submitting the homes to the buyers. When issues arise, you won’t get a response. Emergency hotline is terrible as well.

Do not close till ALL issues are resolve. They will do bare minimum once you are in home.

I understand this is a business but I feel as if things were rushed in order for everyone to get paid.

Not a great experience. So many issues with the construction. The subcontractors were terrible. This house has been one gigantic punch list. I have had to hire my own people to fix issues because I do not trust the subcontractors who would have to come back and fix their poor workmanship in the first place.

Home was overpriced! A lot of broken promises!

Sales and design ppl were great. However, construction manager T was not on top of ensuring house was built to standard. Many times he ensured me home was ready for my inspector, though it wasn't ( utilities off, major fixes needed, etc.) I had to put off closing many times cause of this. When I did close their were still issues needing repair. Building manager rushed me to sign ppwk so I could close, ensuring me the items would be fixed that same day. They weren't. It took almost a month for all things to get fixed, with me having to take many days off from work. Moral of the story, don't close until everything is to your satisfaction, as any repairs will take weeks to complete. ... Más

The drywall, paint, landscapers, and tile/flooring companies are NO GOOD!! Plumbers & electrical are exceptional! AC company is ok. Brand new build my roof is already leaking due to the ridiculous open vents on roof. Do not allow them to put these open vents on your roof. Every time there is wind and rain you will see water leaking from your ceiling inside your home!! BEWARE!!

Lack of understanding the buyer

If you decide to build with KB do not under any circumstances move in until EVERYTHING is complete, no matter how tiny. Give yourself some wiggle room before you have to be out of your current home and into your new home so issues can be taken care of before you close. Please compare the workmanship of other home builders with whomever you decide to build with.

I was really excited with the completion of my home but upon moving in, I feel the house was cheaply built. You can hear water going through the pipes when the bathroom and toilet is used. Some of the phone and cable wiring wasn't completed they just left it out. I have only one phone and internet port which was in the bedroom kind of ridiculous. The design studio should do a better job explaining upgrades. I would have loved to have higher ceilings and a bigger entry way rather than the standard to make moving furniture and appliances easier. Also main office team do not want to engage you in negotiating how you would want certain aspects of the house done if you have concerns. They just delay and dodge your emails for days. I really wish I had a better experience. But I must say the building supervisors have really nice personality but they are restricted to how much help they can offer you. ... Más

Close to two months after closing and still getting things fixed. Getting YES to death and wanting issues resolved. I still cannot give a good review with things still needing repaired.

I am not at all satisfied with Landscaping and missing few things by construction people. Construction people they are not installing what we have chosen in kb designer studios properly.

Everyone I worked with one-on-one at KB Home was kind and helpful. This would include my sales agent, interior design specialist, loan processor and construction manager. But these kind people where not the ones assigned to do the actual physical building of my home. On a good note, My home seemed to have a solid foundation, sturdy frame construction, plumbing and electric that were up to par.. But after that the cosmetic work on my home left a lot to be desired. The paint/caulking, trim, carpet, tile/grout and landscaping where overall a sloppy sloppy disappointing mess that soured the joy and usual personal satisfaction associated with building and buying a retirement home. There was over spray on cabinets. There was split trim and short cut trim with half inch gaps that were filled in and smoothed over by fat fingered caulking, Caulk and paint was smeared over dirty surfaces and even onto and into the carpeting. Poorly laid carpet had fraying gaps and holes. The new carpet was soiled with mud stains to the point that all the carpeting had to be steam cleaned. I think it should have been replaced. Both painted and stained surfaces had runs the size of an 18inch ruler. Over-all I paid hard earned money, saved over my lifetime, to KB Home who built me a new house with a"janky" interior. My yard looks like a sod remnant sale. There are two or three different kinds of grasses patched together from the front to the back and from side to side. When asked what type of grass is planted in my yard, I simply say in embarrassment, "it is green grass". Like the inside of the house my lawn is also a sloppy "janky" mess. In closing, I should mention that my home loan was originated through KB Home Loans. and I was constantly finding errors and mistakes in documents that had to be corrected and reworked throughout the process. First time buying new home and I would not buy from KB Home if knew quality of house is this low. Mediocre built at best.

Wish you could put in more quality products. Kind of cheap.

Home buying is not an easy process. There’s always issues. The main problem I had was that communication with the loan officer was absolutely terrible. It took days to get a response, but then I was called several times and rushed to submit items. I had two different loan officers, one was great (I believe his name was Josh) and the other is the one I had issues with. My main loan officer, Dais, would call me at the end of the business day and even if I called back 2 minutes after missing her call, I would get no response until end of business day the next day. My realtor would reach out to her and she got a response, but I wouldn’t. The processor was even worse. She made several mistakes caught by others, did not apologize for any of them, and made me jump through extra hoops that were not necessary. As far as the construction, several items were wrong. Some were fixed, others weren’t and it took forever to get them fixed. I do not believe the home was worth the price. I received little to no amenities. For example, other companies provide a garage door opener, window blinds, and even a basic refrigerator for the same price that I purchased this home for. I did not receive any of those items. Other homes are going for the same price, in the same location, are larger and come with those amenities. Unfortunately, I felt like I was too far along in the process to go with another company. The reason why I gave this review two stars is because Val, the sales rep, was/is awesome! He always got back to me in a timely response. Building too fast, taking shortcuts to save in cost, cheap labor and materials for an overpriced home. Had issues in every phase of the process..

Slow to get things repaired correctly

As a general builder, my KB Homes experience was good. Great salesmen. Very personable and knowledgeable. The experience was not the same after the closing. The lack of communication was the most frustrating part. With mw knowing how the work with contractors can be, it was exhausting trying to get things resolved because of the lack of follow-through. The only saving grace was the salesman (Jim) having to get involved to try and assist in coordinating things to be resolved. If it wasn't for him, I would give KB a zero!!!!!!!!!

Homebuying experience was fair, could have been better in my opinion. Quality of workmanship & materials are not the greatest. I've notice a lot of paint overspray around the house and especially on my floors! I don't have time to be scrubbing paint off my new floors! I've noticed cracks and nicks on my cabinets, and nicks on my shower doors as well. The list goes on... I don't believe the house is worth for what I paid for it.

I was not informed when I was choosing my lot that there would be a drainage issue when it rains in my back yard. The backyard floods whereby the water stands making it unusable for several days. Several attempts to alleviate this issue have gone unsuccessful. This problem has tarnished my new home building experience.

KB Homes builds the houses their way even after providing upgrade options. They replace the displayed material with cheaper material for cost savings. They do not care to fix that even upon customer's request. As you are locked in contract, you become liability.

Poor workmanship (paints, door and door locks)

I bought a new construction home from KB Homes and I have mixed feelings about it. On the positive side, the staff at the office was pleasant to work with and they tried their best to accommodate my needs. The rates were high, but that’s the market and I don’t blame KB for that. I did have some issues during underwriting, but they were not KB’s fault. On the negative side, I was disappointed with the standard items included in the home. They did not match the price I paid for the home and I felt like I was getting a low-quality product. I think KB should have included more features in the standard package, such as a smart doorbell, higher quality finishes, and better lighting. All those things had an extra cost and I had to pay more to upgrade them. The most frustrating part was the post-closing process. It was difficult to get items addressed after closing and I had to follow up multiple times to get things fixed. The only person who was helpful and responsive was Donald, who is my favorite person at KB Homes. He was professional, courteous, and efficient. My advice to anyone who is considering buying a new home from KB Homes is to not rush your closing and to inspect everything carefully BEFORE you sign off. Make sure you get everything you want and need in your home and don’t settle for less. You are paying a lot of money for your home and you deserve to get the best quality possible. ... Más
