Be sure to research the area your community is being or was built on. Get third party inspections cause the KB construction workers don’t take pride in there work. Keep a list of every repair and how long KB takes to fix it. Tiles started cracking in the second day of moving in the house. I been living here two months now and there are cracks all over the floors and walls in the house, not to mention varies other build issues. The construction manager will submit repair request for the first 45 days after you move in but after that good luck on getting anyone to come repair things. I currently got blue tape all over my walls, unpainted areas, and cracked tiles to name a few things while I wait for KB to give me a date in when the repairs will take place. There were multiple inspections with inadequate follow-ups and delayed communication. Due to several issues, we had to initiate follow-ups each time, as there appeared to be a lack of interest and initiative from the builder’s side.

Buying this home is absolutely the biggest regret I have because it’s been nothing but constant headaches since the day I did my inspection. I was told when to schedule a third party inspection and both times the construction team was not prepared for it. I was told by the project manager that my expectations were to high and no house would ever be perfect, and I needed to have realistic expectations when trying to get the crooked wall, chunks of missing cabinets, and exposed nails fixed. I was told several times this is above model standard, yet I have no ability to do laundry, water sitting in walls growing mold, broken window, and it’s taken weeks to get a solution. My realtor was gaslit and ignored when addressing concerns before I showed up after closing and was told she couldn’t address the issues. We closed two months ago and are still awaiting major repairs, roof, driveway, flooring etc. maybe buy a fixer as the work would be done more timely and to a better standard.

Before we sign the contracts for the new home we told the KB agent that we will be adding a second name to the tile and was told that we could add that person during the signing at the title company. When the signing day came was told by the title company that KB has to amendment our contract. So we went back to the KB agent told them what happen and was told by the agent that they can not provide amendment or change the contract. Which will create additional cost for us to hire a lawyer to deed our title . Also we were require 50k in earnest money deposit compare to our other home purchase that was 7-10k by a different builder. We have to tell KB during the walk through there are lots of crack 2x4. that needed fix. ... Más

It was a hectic process to get your home closed. Few false promises made during the process. Workmanship is not at best and at the same time it is not worth for the money you pay.

Everything was good until we closed. Now there's minimal response to issues. Repaired a window and they said they would come back out to do the paint. Been waiting on paint for over a month. Still no word on when the people are coming to paint the window that they did repairs on. Oven quit working less than 2 months in the house. The number left to me for warranty repairs isn't valid anymore. Just like most other companies they'll do what it takes until the sale closes then you're on your own.

I was warned not to buy a KB Home and now I’m warning you. The craftsmanship is horrible. The sales agent and general contractors grossly misleads buyers. They have completely ruined my first home buying experience. You cannot get them to honor parts of the warranty. Purchase with a Pulte, Lennar or other builder. Trust me!!!

Just a heads up once you pass your 30 days in the home and have to deal with the warranty department you will sit and wait for them to get those items fix. You also do not get any updates so you are kept in the dark on the items that you submitted. So beware.

Quality control is a problem

We are very disappointed. We made a list of items that need to be fixed. We were told contractors were coming but we had mostly no shows. We would text and make calls and no response. Painters came in to do touch ups. No drop cloths and got paint on our rugs. My wife had to get paint out. There are no transition strips down and the rug is fraying. Never have I seen rugs installed and transition strips not put down. We only been in the house 3 months. The ceiling in the lanai is wavy due to the trusses/rafters being bowed. Garage floor is full of stains. Ledge in garage is crumbing. Tile in kitchen is crooked by 2 inches and the wall is not leveled. Tiles in master bathroom are beveled. The cement outside the house is sloppy workmanship. We had to go back to Pennsylvania for several weeks and we were promised that the work was going to get done. So far we been home for 3 weeks. As far as we can tell since we have cameras we only saw two people outside our house. We saw no one go in. We were promised pictures as the work was completed. So far we haven't received anything. The whole building process was kind of fustrating. Loan and all financial process was smooth and easy. To be honest, I wouldn't recommend KB to anyone.

I purchased this home as to be our last home. We have had nothing but issues with loud Mexican music played by construction workers. Fire alarms that come on randomly for no reason. Door seels that are improperly installed. Expensive filters for the home, four different types. Carpet is standard in the dining area, in other words you're eating on carpeted floors; so 70's. Poor home construction, walls feel like paint on cardboard. Do not buy a home here! I'm looking to sell and only been here two months, yes, it's that bad! I have lived in my house for 3 months now and I still have items that have not been fixed. Zero communication and the complaints that I have submitted have been tossed aside. They don’t care, they have their money and screw the consumer. Very disappointed in this company.

Date given for closing -house wasn’t ready. Once closing was done a multitude of inappropriate installments were noted.. For example: shower pan was installed it had a crack and empty spaces underfoot. Requested a new one and the gentleman stated it was malfunction from the manufacturer and they didn’t understand why it was installed. The shower door leaked due to little to no silicone per gentleman removing it. After replacing shower pan plastic cover not removed because it was no one’s job. So we removed it and caulking around tile and pan has yet to be redone 3 weeks later. The grout between pan and tile floor also has not been done. The walls had broken Sheetrock installed bulging the walls. Still waiting for that repair. The grounds was never leveled and lowest grade of grass applied so the landscape is uneven and a hazard. They totally made a mess of the garage floor and took it upon themselves to epoxy it to cover the screw up without consulting the buyer. The door frames appear to be the rejects so are the cheapest you can buy as you see the dents at different parts of the wood. Paint is watered down so if you pass a rag you see the sheetrock The cabinets ill painted and toe kicks 1” short throughout the house. Kyle- superintendent Chris warranty manager Johnny brought in to take over for Kyle all talk the talk but don’t walk the walk. All they are concerned with is how I was going to relate them. Looking for a ten I gave them an opportunity to make the corrections. They would call one company at a time and then book 2-3 weeks out. When asked for phone numbers for warranty department it has never been provided. Requested all companies be called simultaneously since they didn’t interfere with one another. That never happened it wasn’t even acknowledged. These were my major concerns. Advice to future KB HOME buyers- Don’t buy from KB Avoid the stress, headache and waste of time for services needed to be completed. I was told KB ‘s tactics is to waste time until your warranty is over. I believe in seeing the good in people but I guess I should have listened to the ones I trusted. Lesson learned. ... Más

Don't buy one is my advice.

We moved into a Model home which was a sales Office earlier. Prior to moving-in (at the time of purchase), we were provided a lot of assurances but when close to the move-in date, sales representative was not agreeing to none of the items agreed upon. For Ex: the carpet was really Bad and nothing was done to address the issue. Similarly with the doors. The only saving grace was the construction manager Joaquin. He ensured all the defects highlighted on moving-in were fixed. Over all did not have a positive experience and also felt I had paid 20K more than the market value.

I expected some problems when building a new house but was shocked at the subpar craftsmanship and communication I experienced during this process. I still have many items on my to-do list that I brought up before closing that haven't been addressed four months later. After moving in, I was rushed to take my 30-day survey early and pressured to give a good review, even though one was not deserved, and then literally forgotten about. This whole time, I have been patient and understanding as I know they are busy and overworked, but sadly, that has only gotten me pushed around and overlooked.

STAY AWAY WHILE YOU CAN. DOWNSTAIR RESTROOM IS FLAWED.....44 DEGREES DURING THE WINTER? KB BLAMES THIS ON THE BUYER FOR SELECTING TILES..BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT MAKES IT COLD.

Really bad experiences. Once they get their reviews you never gonna see them

Going on 2 months now and none of the issues have been addressed or even made appointments. Doing business with KB is like going on a dating site. All nice and good at the beginning but once you discovered issues KB ghosts you. My sprinkler system is flooding, so I’m wondering if KB is going to replace my grass. Dishwasher and Stove need to be replaced. One of the bedrooms has a dead switch. Where my walls meet the ceiling are not even straight. I also had the carpets removed. While removing the carpet, nails and trash was discovered under the pad. Good thing I’ve had my tetanus shot. I would like to get these issues fixed asap so I can sell the home. House wasn’t even completed on closing day and kb homes didn’t even have paperwork ready to close when they picked the date to close. Craftsman ship is disappointing. Got my microwave stolen while in building phase. Landscaping is dying and uneven and mostly dirt and grass. Sodding isn’t even up to code. Cracks In driveways and inside garage and only lived in for 2 months. They said the settling is “normal” but the cracks will only get worse down the road.

KB homes is straight-forward to deal with. You know the prices and options you will get. They move fast in construction! But, that may be at the cost of quality. They do not use the highest quality materials and some of the labor is sloppy. It is nice to have a home and they price it so that you can buy it, but they are not necessarily a good value. Quality just isn't there. And then when you want something fixed.... everything should be smooth and quick but you get a million run-arounds which is unfortunate. Probably would be better to just do things correctly the first time.
