After we picked the house we wanted, nothing was good or great after that. Mortgage company was horrible. We did a walk through previously with blue tape and signed off. When we moved in, nothing was fixed we had marked. Trying to get them to fix anything was like pulling teeth and we had to do some of it ourselves. When someone spends over $400,000 on a brand new house, the buyer shouldn't have to do quality control in the contractors job. Do not recommend.

The issues i am having with the home that i recently purchase at the Shadow Mountain community are the features in the module home and the finish product are way different. The island and food storage pantry are too small in the finished homes and is not similar in size that are shown in the module homes. The solar panels which are main features and selling point of the KB Homes are yet to activated and being used by the owners. Both Sun Power and the Electric company are giving run arounds on who to submit request for activation, I would have gone with Pulte Homes and used Sun Run for my solar panels supplier if I have known that was going to be an issue. ... This was the most horrible experience for buying a home, the aggressiveness and incompetent plus the misinformation of the sales team was the most unpleasant experience for buying a home. I am sorry but I will never refer anyone

I recently had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a home from KB Homes, and I must say it has been an absolute nightmare. From the moment we signed the contract, it became apparent that quality work and effective communication were not priorities for this company. First and foremost, the construction quality of the house was abysmal. It seemed as though corners were cut at every turn, resulting in a litany of issues. The paint job was uneven and sloppy, with visible streaks and blotches on the walls. The flooring was installed poorly, with several tiles already cracked at closing. Drywall imperfection ran rampant throughout the home, The irrigation was a disaster and non operational for TWO months. I also did not have DOOR KNOBS for close to a month after closing. The list goes on and on. It is disheartening to see such subpar craftsmanship, especially considering the substantial amount of money we invested in this home. Adding to the frustration, the lack of communication from KB Homes has been utterly disappointing. When we initially raised concerns about the quality of work, it took weeks for trades to complete work after notifying our super intendent. Even then, the responses were vague and unhelpful, leaving us feeling ignored and abandoned. It became apparent that once they had our money, they were no longer interested in providing any form of customer support. The lack of transparency and accountability from KB Homes is deeply concerning. It is clear that they prioritize profit over customer satisfaction, neglecting their responsibility to deliver quality homes and support their buyers. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I would strongly advise anyone considering a home purchase to think twice before choosing KB Homes. In conclusion, my experience with KB Homes has been nothing short of a nightmare. The poor quality workmanship and the company's complete lack of communication and accountability have made this a regrettable decision. Save yourself the frustration and headache and look elsewhere for a reputable home builder that values its customers and takes pride in its work. KB Homes is simply not worth the time, money, or stress. This is everything I wanted to say… However, amidst this sea of disappointment, there was one shining star in the form of Tyler. Tyler was the only person from KB Homes who seemed genuinely concerned about our issues and took proactive steps to address them. He responded to our calls and kept me notified via a detailed texting format, and he made it a point to visit our home personally to assess the problems we were facing. His professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond was truly commendable and is something every single KB employee should aspire to provide their customers. ... Más

The communication with the head of construction was terrible

I paid cash for my home. I let myself be rushed instead of making sure the issues with my home were taken care prior to closing. I have paint splatters on the lvp flooring; on the concrete outside my home; paint on the carpeting; hot water heater didn’t work, and though I let the super know it took a bit for it to be repaired by the plumbing company; the cabinet in the master bathroom was not repaired; the cabinet molding was not replaced; all the bathtubs are scratched; the cultured marble in the secondary bathroom is chipped; the kitchen sink is scratched like it was used by the builder and someone tried to clean but used an abrasive which scratched the stainless steel. So yes, I’m not a happy customer. Oh, and the Sheetrock in the garage has screw holes all over. Probably a screw up from another house. The list goes on… ... Más

Worst workman ship ever, the whole process was a nightmare for me

Bad experience all over. Bad loan experience had to switch to another loan company. My home was abandoned during construction while others were being built at a faster rate.

I have filed 3 better business bureau complaints. so lets start from the beginning. I bought a house on a plot of land i was told I would be able to put a pool in. I paid for the land, I went to the design center and paid 8k for upgrades to my home. From there issue number 1 - I was called and told due to a pipe running under my property I would be loosing 1/4 my yard. My kids would no longer have a pool etc... They offered me another property with a larger yard for a more expensive lot premium. I reluctantly agreed. From that point I told my sales rep Joel I needed to be out by Feb (this was October) I was assured this would be ok. Late December I was told there was a shortage of workers, my house would no longer be ready until the beginning of Feb. I spoke with my land lord who was putting my home up for sale and he agreed to let me stay till Feb 1 thankfully. I have 3 children all under the age of 6 moving 3 times was not in my budget, and being homeless was not appealing either. I was assured again Feb would not be an issue by my sales rep. I heard nothing until I reached out to KB near Feb 1 at which point i was told my home would not be ready until March or potentially April. At this point i was about to pull the plug since I was essentially going to be homeless anyway come Feb 1st. At this point KB offered me a stock home on a larger lot with a higher lot premium HOWEVER the caveat is I would no longer get the upgrades (dual thermostat, tile, counter tops, lights, fixtures, water loop and fireplace) that i PAID FOR. so i took a larger lot, at the monetary loss, have to repay to put all the stuff in my new place etc but it came down to that or having to move multiple times, or simply being homeless. This was the only choice I had as I could not risk my children and I being without a place to live. The inventory home I have is lovely, its not what I wanted, not what I asked for and not what I paid for and had i known this going in I would have gone a different way. First, I was placed on the waiting list to purchase a home in January of 2022. My name finally came up to purchase a home around March 20th 22. I placed the down payment and the salesperson said my pre-qualification letter and and closing disclosure to me. My realtor and myself, went off on those numbers and planned for the home for several months. A month later, my salesperson from KB sent me a message that he had to apologize for sending me the wrong figures and home information for over a month. Wow. He informed me that my closing figures would be twice as much now with the new figures. I am not sure how you get the information wrong for over a month. However, I digress. I then had to drop out of that process because of KB homes And request a refund. I then gave KB Homes another chance in July to purchase a home. The home that was advertised on KB's website and for the Realtors website and the nmls list was a perfect fit. The home was advertised as all improvements and structural details included. I signed the contract and pay the down payment. Almost 2 months later the same salesman came to me and advised that they could not honor the contract. They informed me that there were several mistakes with the advertising and they could not honor the previous agreement that I signed and paid for. Because I am just a nine to five worker, and not a multi-million dollar Corporation they could do such a thing. The average working Joe has no leverage on these companies. We then had to restructure the entire contract. I lost out on a great deal that KB advertised. Lastly I was recently informed emphatically and specifically not to change the utilities in my name until they specifically informed me to because of issues that were still going on with the home. My kids and I came home after work school and our Sports practice around 6:00 p.m. Friday and all Power and Water was turned off to the home without myself ever receiving any type of heads up or calls. I informed the head of construction that this is not what I was told and now my family has to suffer because I trusted the information that I was given. The construction phase was better than the sales phase. I assume I will have to pay for everything I lost for those 4 days without power. That's really has been my experience with KB homes. Recently i bought my first KB home, though i have multiple investment properties, the quality, and workmanship are of a way low standard. The wrong cabinets are installed and post-handover, I have been asked to reinstall the cabinets. There is no space to access master bathroom from one side. Overall a very terrible experience with KB Homes.

No Transparency & do not care about buyers

At first things were good until our lot was sold from up under us twice. No notification or idea it had happened until when it was time to get a date for the studio. Then once that was sorted, studio selections were double selected by a neighboring house which caused some reselections without compensation. Once that was figured out, when it came time to close on the house multiple credit checks within a month mixed up identity from loan officer and closing agent and once we got to the final hour KB denied me a loan. It was all too peculiar, like KB didn't want to sell the house to us. But I found a lender outside of KB who was willing to loan us the money and we closed within 2.5 weeks. Something KB couldn't not get done. Now that I'm in the house a few things need to be corrected it's taking time but things are coming together. Very tumultuous and frustrating dealing with KB staff. The house has been occupied since January 2023, and still no usage of Solar System. Shame om KB Homes and SunPower with their poor quality of service. Nobody cares after we have bought the house!!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! If you’re looking to get a KB home make sure to come in with your own financing company. The finance department is horrible aside from Lionel in finance who heard our cries and disappointment through the process. Building too soooo king it was months where houses that weren’t sold before ours had already been worked on. We are two months in and still need repairs fixed. If you can elsewhere do so it’s not worth it

Sales started out great, as time went along construction progressively got worse, sales had no answers builder had no answers, walls built where walls shouldn't be, vents were wrong etc. etc., 13months to close and still haven't had issues or promises kept but KB got paid and now here i am still cant open a window due to know screens, counter tops look like cigarette burns, we have back splash scheduled but we will see what happens with that...will not recommend to any one to buy here, my family bought 3 homes here and wish we hadn't.

KB sales and mortgage are awful to deal with. Very unprofessional, and they did not help get me into this house, I had to resort to another lender. The communication was awful, the loan rep had zero experience and professionalism. Being a first time homebuyer, it truly was an awful experience. I’m also waiting on some minor repairs that were pointed out in my walk-through that are important to me, but don’t seem important to the builders. communication has not been good. Overall, it has not been a good experience. However, we do love her home and we are glad this is behind us although we’re still waiting on the minor repairs. We bought our first home with KB Home. There are pending items to complete but they requested us to close the property and mentioned that they would complete the pending items with in 2-3 weeks of home closure. We almost completed 2+ months and still they did not address the pending items and every day follow-up got a big headache. My recommendation to everyone not to go and close the home without trusting them. Just close the property once everything is addresses.

Through the entire process there was little to no communication unless it was Us reaching out to the Builders of this company. Only time any communication was reciprocated to us is when they needed something, KB really made the experience worse instead of insuring the customer had a wonderful stress free time. We were Hounded and pushed to close when the house was not even complete! Once we conducted our walk through the quality of work was incredibly poor. Foundation was NOT level therefore the flooring was wavy and hollow in certain areas, paint on almost every outlet, un even wall heights and the pillars out front were noticeably crooked. The contractors left debris in our drains causing an overflow in the bathroom that flooded the pantry and the kitchen. Were holes in the walls, door knobs in half the rooms were lose and would fall off. With all of that the communication was still very poor, we reached out and every time we’d make a call no one would answer. We would have to call literally 10 times just to get a text back to call another number. The concrete in the garage was poorly finished with a bunch of Honeycomb and cracked edges. We have only been in the house for 3 weeks and we feel we made the worse mistake purchasing with KB Homes. ... Más

I bought my first home with KB. The process has a lot of loopholes and I would recommend it’s best for folks who put their due diligence throughout the process. Some aspects of the sales process is very scammy and I have discussed the same with my neighbours and they agree. I was promised so many things before the purchase of the home and after the purchase, poor quality products were installed and the customer service representative gave an excuse that they’re not in the business of top quality home building. It’s almost like they were nice and good to the homes buyers until the home purchase is done. And once the process is over, you’re on your own and told the things installed are what they could do in the budget. The houses are definitely priced high and the quality of countertop, doors, garage sensors, elevation in porch is very bad. And these are just a few things to name. The salesman Rey S. made promises that he could not keep. He was at the Title company the day of closing he saw us and never spoke to us. Shows he really cared about us. $$$$$ (NOT)construction date was pushed back Repeatedly( six months)closing was a nightmare (it took 7 hours). I have been in my home 78 days and still have not got a thank you card or anything from sale’s or Kb thanking us for purchasing a home. There are to many people involved in the transactions. If I had not put time, money and effort into this house, I would have walked away. Advice to consumers, do your homework. As all home builders and sales people they are out for the money, they will say what you want to hear to close the deal. ... Más

House was not completed properly on due date. Many issues existed that were located after we moved in. Items ordered and installed were not the same as we had selected in the showroom. Everything that needed to get corrected is an order that gets placed and then your at the mercy of the contractor to show up weeks later. There is no quality control. No one is monitoring the actual work of the corrections. Sometimes out of the blue a contractor would show up unexpectedly. The warranty department takes days to answer. In essence, they took our money, an now we are forced to wait for all repairs to get done whenever they get done with no priority for us since it is not an emergency. Not only did it take o year to build my home, the closing date moved twice. There have been numerous issues (they’ve been fixed) that were annoying. Ie: leak under driveway, gas line not hooked up to furnace, carbon monoxide leak due to hvac not being hooked up properly,…I could go on. Definitely wasn’t expecting these issues when spending over 400k.

Overall building experience was horrible the builder was rude and argumentative. Because of waiting on cabinets my house sat in worked on for months. We were given weekly progress report but everything we were told was done or getting done would not be completed. When we went to written contact since verbally we were not getting any results. We were told by George the builder we had no right to go to our home unless invited at that point all progress reports stopped. We had 3 closing dates none were met. Causing us to push the sale of our home back. When we came for our final review before closing we had broken window, the house was filthy, broken cabinet drawers, no final paint done, on missing shower heads, missing mirrors, missing door knobs, holes in living room ceiling a huge hole in the bathroom wall, no shelving in the linen closet, back porch ceiling damage, back porch floor damage. H16 screwdriver hole across kitchen ceiling. At this point we were told our ovens were no longer in stock and were replaced with different ovens that we did not even approve of, and the wrong dishwasher. All the electrical was not wired correctly. This was 2 days before closing! The day of closing we had another walk through nothing had be touch. We had our movers bringing our furniture in while painters and electricians were trying to fix what they could. We have been in our home now for a month now and still waiting on repairs to be completed. We were promised compensation for our experience that never came. ... Más

I was very disappointed with the build quality and with Brian the superintendent who was unprofessional and intentionally delayed and messed up the build, I am very surprised that the Sales team (Tim) who knew of the price reduction forced me to sign the contract for the unfinished, very poor quality deliverable 2 days before the price reduction.
