I recently had the unfortunate experience of working with a homebuilder that I would not recommend. The customer service was appalling, their craftsmanship was subpar, and their overall trustworthiness was severely lacking. To say that the customer service was poor would be an understatement. The communication was abysmal and a complete lack of transparency. I was left frustrated and wondering if my concerns even mattered to them. This level of disregard for their customers is simply unacceptable. Unfortunately, the quality and craftsmanship of the house they built were equally disappointing. The attention to detail was non-existent, and it was evident that corners were cut at every possible turn. The finishing work was sloppy, with visible cracks in the drywall, uneven flooring, and poorly installed fixtures. The materials used were of inferior quality. Furthermore, the lack of trustworthiness exhibited by this homebuilder was deeply concerning. At homeowners walk through, the home was not ready and without any valid explanations, leaving me questioning their integrity. Moreover, request for low cost for minor repairs were responded with a rejection based on personal financial ability to self purchase, causing significant financial strain and a breach of trust. It became clear that this company was more interested in maximizing their profits at the expense of their customers' satisfaction and peace of mind. Overall, my experience with this homebuilder was nothing short of a disaster. The poor customer service, coupled with the substandard quality and craftsmanship, made for an incredibly frustrating and disheartening journey. The only positive in this experience was being able to close at a good price relative to the area, but that credit goes to me and my agent. Please don't get fooled by any of these people that work for KB Homes on promises that they don't deliver. Don't sign anything until you make sure it's done because these people only want what is coming to them and that is a bonus check on a great review that we give to them. These people put up a front of being good to you when in reality they are horrible very sad that KB Homes hires unprofessional staff to do such a sloppy job. Everything is an excuse to what they and their contractors do wrong so they don't take responsibility. Lose siding, damage cabinet doors, water coming in from rear door, flood damage from lose pipe, paint smudges everywhere, filthy house interior and exterior, sloppy tile work on flooring patch up on vinyl flooring horrible, terrible patch up and touch up on walls, back porch in terrible condition and the nasty paint job. The house was delivered to us with many details, broken walls, glass with details in doors and windows, they did not clean the house, it was delivered dirty and with paint on the carpets, the gate was hit and they still did not replace the panel. The peivers were not cured, painting details inside the house still not done. The master closet done very badly. The truth is that we are not happy with the house because it was delivered to us with many things to do and it was delivered out of time. We are not happy.

The quality of workmanship is horrible on these new homes. So many issues with the house. So very disappointed on the buy.

In this current market you’d expect homes to be built better then ever. Interest rates are high and house prices are higher then ever. For those families still wanting to purchase a house. Buying one poorly built and shown lack of professionalism is disappointing. Trying to get someone to come do repairs is a joke. I thought it was just my house but after speaking with my neighbors it’s all our houses. When I met with KB homes the first time I was told how well their homes are built and how attentive they are to details when building homes. This is a like and a total joke. I'm actually really tired of these surveys - We had a really terrible experience, made the home buying process even more stressful than it should have been. The sales rep quoted us the incorrect pricing and was inconsistent throughout. The trades that were hired to do the job drew profanities on our things. Since the very beginning at every stage of the process, I’ve communicated any errors or complaints immediately. After any complaints and talking to different associates in different departments, there was always a sense that things would be addressed, however that was never the case. Either things get passed down to different departments or people in charge, but things were never done. The overall construction of the home was very sloppy, tons of mistakes in just about every step. Lots of very obvious mistakes that were just looked past. When finalizing the home purchase, many things were still pending and we had many complaints from the construction of the home itself, delays and even the whole loan process with KB. I spoke with the customer director Don and we advised of all the issues within the home and with the customer experience. We left with a positive hopeful conversation that things would be corrected and rectified, because he was very understanding that our complaints were validated. However, at this point it has been about 5 months since then and only one of the smaller issues has been addressed. Nothing has been rectified. At this point I am very disappointed and would think that a company such as KB would do so much more for their customers and would not want to leave this type of experience for their customers. It seems as though there is no responsibility within the company to make sure things are being done. Someone needs to hold each department accountable to make sure things that are promised to be done actually get done and the customer is not left hanging for over a year. My experience was miserable and they know it. They were not honest about closing dates and they put me through at least 10 closing dates. This caused me undo and uncalled for hardships on me and my dog. Moving from place to place counting on KB to make good on closing only to be denied again and again! I lost trust in them fairly early on. Funny, the only dates they held true to was the date I had to have my earnest money/check sent to them by which in good faith I did! And at that point my closing date was cancelled for one excuse after another. They are quick to blame weather, worker shortage, etc. I saw their issue as a lack of leadership from the front office to those on the ground I saw working. A clear lack of supervision from higher up. The sales guy, the lender and the onsite construction guy were the only ones I trusted. All others truly didn't care promising only in the end, only when they knew how hostile my review was going to be, told me "they'll make up for the inconvenience" I went through. When you cant convince a buyer with quality product and results, you bribe them. I didn't take the bait and have the moral courage to put out there what I'm writing here. Approach KB with extreme caution, I'm not the only one this has happened to. Do your due diligence. I'm day to day with my new place a certain upgrade from the townhome I had in IL, but I just pray that small things I've noticed in workmanship and so forth, while not earth shattering, aren't signs of what might come later. I closed Feb 28,2023, I did not move physically till April 17, and my water bill is $300. The house is not yet 100 % completed till today April 18,2023. Windows and door screens are not yet installed, laundry room is only 90% completed, garage entry door knob was installed backward , lights outside and front door are wrong in accordance with the upgrades, garage door is still dirty, numerous of over painted edges. Its over price. They forced us to close even its not ready, not even close to the promise of the term”RTM” ready to move. Floors are dirty.

Known Repairs issues after closing were not rectified.They have mistakenly installed a screen for the patio and uninstall it after realizing it is the wrong house.They promised us that they will change the damaged siding but until now it was not completed.

KB homes was our 1st single family home purchase. We went threw 3 superintendents which was a nightmare many sleepless nights. If you’re looking for detail work you will not find it at KB homes. Superintendents so over booked and worked dealing with you as a homebuyer is like walking into a busy restaurant on a Friday night with poor costumer service. The main guy over all the construction sites that’s worked like 25 years for KB homes is true to his word and will make things right. He is a family man and is kind to help threw hurdles.

Be Away from this Builder. The construction Quality is very worse. Many Issues with the home. They just avoid the home owner issues after closing. The construction manager is buying the feedback from the Existing home owners, with a small perks like Free Epoxy flooring, if we give 100% positive feedback on All sections. My Home had many issues, with the Paint & Appliances and many more. Some design selections I selected are not installed, they forgot to install them. So, I did not submit the positive feedback, They did not give me the Epoxy flooring. Submitting 100% positive feedback, for a 300 $ value Epoxy flooring is Joke !! Never trust this builder !! The sales man was horrible, the title company and closing was horrible. The window washers came and told me they didn't finish and said they'd be back, they haven't come back. I've requested about 3 times now when they're coming back, still not back. After 3 week review I was told the painters would be back, they're still not back also.

I have been in the house for two months and it still has many details. The truth is that I would not recommend it to anyone, tremendous sectioning. Put people who are trained to supervise the construction of the houses.

Definitely probably one of the worst experiences I’ve ever dealt with, not a first time home buying process that I felt I’ve received/deserved. Cheap materials, lack of communication, no follow up, rushed process, items not completed, & I have questions to this day that still aren’t being answered or addressed. I would never purchase another home from this builder.

Worst experience in my life. I hate KB, this house and everyone involved. I’ll be glad when I get rid of it.

The construction of the home is of very low quality. Different shades of paint on the same walls. Carpet covered in paint spots, flooring creaks anywhere you walk, drywall nails visible on walls and ceilings, tile not leveled, etc. I can go on and on. It’s as if they hired a bunch of rookies to complete the home. Horrible build, would not recommend to anyone looking for a home.

Don't waste your hard earned money on this community of kb homes!

It has been more than two months since closing, and instead of doing the things we would like to in and on our home, we spend our weekends taking care of workmanship issues. In the last two weekends, we removed and repaired drawer glides in the last cabinet installed in our master bath, and yesterday fought off an ant invasion because there are gaps 1" wide between the siding and the foundation. There's no telling what we're going to find next, so we have set our expectations to zero. We're also redoubling our efforts to find what workmanship issues remain, but it will probably take an entire year to find them all. We have collected a lot of notes, e-mails, and photos, and once we do find all we can in this first year, we intend to write a report we to send to every name we can find at KB Homes about our own unique home-buying experience. ... Don’t buy from kB! It’s been a nightmare since we got here.workmanship is terrible and repairs are slow and sloppy! Don’t Buy from Kb!

I was threaten to lose my rate if I did not close before my house was completed. I have lived here for over 1 month and my master shower has never been used because it still isn’t completed. My closet has no shelving, I’m missing some gutter on the roof. I still have blue tape that wasn’t fixed that was noted by a kb employee himself. The superintendent sends you nothing but lies about the progress of your home. If you plan to buy from kb anyway I suggest you check progress on your own and do not close until it is 100% completed. My backsplash is broken and has been since closing. That is still waiting repair. They do not respond to emails. In the process of hiring an attorney for the issues as no one has made right on the problems. They talk a good game so do your homework. Hire your own inspector. My suggestion is go do a custom build or buy from a better builder. ... Más

The sales people used high pressure tactics and misled us during the purchasing process. They did not communicate with the lender or the design center. We had to check that everything we paid for was installed. We paid for higher end cabinets and they were not even installed correctly. They came with lots of damages, they are still not fixed even though the house has closed for 3 months. This was not our first time buying a new home, but it was the worst new home buying experience. It definitely did not feel like we were purchasing a home that cost more than a million dollars. We would never recommend anyone to buy a KB Home and we will definitely not buy another one. Here are some of the things that went bad: - cabinet handles were installed crooked, and not aligned. - they come to do touch up paint and left paint drops on the floor. - all the doors are scratched or dented. - the garage door handle just fell off - while we were buying the house, all the home buyers did not get the same price adjustment, some home buyers got additional benefits even though salespeople lied and said everyone is treated the same. - the after purchase service is non-existent. There is no place to send issues. Nobody responds to emails. The only person who tries to help is the construction superintendent. - the KB team was the most unorganized group of people we dealt with. - throughout the whole experience communication we received from different people were all different. Nobody was on the same page. Everyone had different dates, deadlines or records. The NEW home purchasing experience with KB Home was spoiled due to the lack of attention to detail and follow-up plus the bad quality of materials and workmanship which did not equate to value for the price paid.

Sales team was great. All other aspects from loan, construction, quality, craftsmanship, closing, to repairs has been a nightmare. Very disappointed in the product. There are major issues in every part of the home. Moved in and the AC, Ovens, electrical and plumbing all had major issues. 2 months in and we still do not have proper working air and still no ovens. Countertops that we paid extra for is cracked. Most of the electrical was wired incorrectly or not at all. Overall, the lack of detail, care and professionalism was missing. Not sure if it is incompetence or laziness or both. Either way we feel as if we were sold a lemon. We will NEVER EVER BUY KB homes again. Do your research!!!! Also, incorrect materials were used. Drywall does not even reach the floors. We have had at least 20 repairs so far and are awaiting many more to correct the issues. The construction manager who was in charge of our home lied to us multiple times causing us extreme stress about closing. We had no where to go, our storage unit was up, had to cancel movers and KB undelivered as promised multiple times. Finally closed with an incomplete home.
