Ask questions! Our home buying experience was less than stellar! 8 months of construction turned into 14 months!

If you not experienced in computer tech, you are pretty much on your own.

Seems like they finished home in rush and had some issues with home. Took them forever to fix the problems and there are still some that I had to fix it my self. Never had frame walk when they were building the home. Had few concerns during building process that we aren't sure if they were fixed or not because no one got back to us.

Title says enough still waiting for a call back two months later.

Hello, the responsiveness to issues its very bad! when you have problems they don't solve them!

They may have to make sure before picking upgrades to home. Most upgrades can be done after purchase instead of from builder.

Kb home no respond for repairing warranty I have kitchen tile issue and walls pints no response about that

House was not ready at closing. Stated things would be handled shortly after. Now over a month still having unresolved issues including neighborhood infrastructure still not ready. Yard grading is terrible. Landscaping installed half dead. Was made to close way to fast and early. House should of been completed before closing

Too many issues that still need to be fixed after receiving home

Workmanship is not good at all. There are many poor quality works that we have found at many places of the home. Even when we asked them to be fixed the persons who came to fix did the same kind of poor quality repairs making no difference. At the time of closing we noted some issues that needed to be addressed. But due to closing timeline, we were told to go ahead get them fixed by warranty. There are two bigger items that are not addressed till date, that we definitely want them to be addressed. Chipped portion of counter top in kitchen that was just glued in, Drive way replacement as it has cracks. In fact prior this year, I dropped from other home in East village - Classic collection for the drive way crack issue and they said they will not fix it. But after we dropped from that home, we saw the driveway was getting replaced. If we were told that will be fixed we would have very weel bought that home instead earlier this year. But now the same drive way crack happened here. Earlier when we signed the offer, there was no crack. But towards the closing it started showing and before closing we said this is not something that we are comfortable with. But we were told it is very minor and due to lack of time for closing date, it is better to close first and get them addressed by warranty later. Now we see that it evolved bigger and warranty team is saying it is in tolerable limits for them. But that is not aceptable answer for us as we had dropped from earlier hiome also for the same reason. ... Más

All I can say is, have your builder fix everything before closing, after closing the trades are slow to respond. Holding up closing is the only way to hold the builder accountable for the repairs. After closing you are a low priority, they want the other houses to be built as fast as possible.

Overall we had to jump through hurdles to get the home. It has been almost two months and we still have not had all the things fixed in our house after living here for almost two months. According to the city, they have not paid their fees and finished the paperwork so we still do not have our certificate of occupancy meaning we can’t get trash cans, and I can’t put utilities in my name. Craftsmanship in the overall build is subpar. I regret not going with another builder and lender. I fell for the low interest rates which at 6.5% still isn’t that great. My experience with KB Homes has been a mixed bag. While there have been some positive aspects, the overall journey has been marred by several significant issues that are yet to be resolved. This lack of disclosure was a major disappointment, as it left us feeling like we were not adequately informed to make a decision about our purchase. Had we been given all the necessary details, we might have reconsidered our choice. Another area where KB Homes fell short of expectations was in the craftsmanship of our new home. We have experienced more issues in this brand-new home than we did with our previous builder, Meritage. This speaks to a potential lapse in quality control and attention to detail during the construction process, which is concerning when investing in a new property. On a more positive note, we do appreciate the layout and design of our KB home. It's clear that thought went into creating a functional and appealing living space, and this aspect of the home has been a redeeming factor in an otherwise lackluster experience. Do your research before buying a new built from KB Homes. The quality of materials used to build these homes is cheap. So many issues with our new built, what a disappointment.

Nothing to say about anything

Model homes looked great, but after moving into the actual home, I realized the quality of KB Home is not top notch. You can tell people who painted and did the construction didn’t pay attention to details. You can hear impact noise from your next door neighbor. KB Home’s frontline employees (sales, superintendent) are great, but sr. leadership must drive quality for the whole company so it can trickle down.

Been here a little over a month and have had a bunch of issues with the house from electrical to plumbing to paint. Thought I was buying a quality home from a quality builder. Sense of urgency is just not where it should be to get issues resolved. Not too happy.

Sales and finance were excellent. Rolanda and Brad did a great job. Disappointed with interior craftsmanship and finish. Sloppy work and finishes feel cheap. Multiple issues with the home. Resolution of these issues being accomplished slowly.

We’re proud of our new home however I’m ashamed of how things were handled in the last week or 2 of the process

Finance took too long with certain documents which caused the closing to be delayed several times. The house is not fully complete and there were many flaws in the home. Found poor quality work and many items needed to go through warranty. It seemed like a rushed home. Still waiting on items to be taken care of even though several months have gone by since living in the home. Majority of the items owner had call the contractors for each job directly. It felt like I was doing someone else’s job.

Less than average experience so far in this new community.

Within mere 2 months of moving in the new built home we have already faced so many issues in the working capacity of the house. Listing a few here - patio screen door came off, no electricity in the laundry room, kitchen cabinets are coming off, master bedroom door lock is installed opposite way , 2 bulbs are plunging out of the wall, and so on. We put in work orders and only 1 work order was done and rest all are remaining. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTING. We bought 625,000 home for this,????? Need answers.

The subfloor on the second floor is completely loose, whenever you walk on some spots you can feel it moving and making noise cracking. When we moved in, we have bees right above our front porch, 2 months pass they still trying to figure out how to remove them. Small details they are fast to fix, but some more complicated problems they take time. Poor job on details. Food materials
