The home buying as far as the loan and sales were ok. The quality of the workmanship on the home is subpar. No quality control. The vendors used needs to be held more accountable for their sloppy workmanship. Still awaiting response for my squeaking floors. Placed a workorder several weeks ago and no one has responded.

Seller’s agent Tanika had been great but I had some bad experience with a couple of others after discovering a water leak with about a week after moving in. I picked KB because of some friends who had a good experience at another city. Maybe it was the pandemic, the supplies shortages, the shortage in workers but they could really do better.

It took 15 months to build our home start to finish and it wasn’t even fully completed when we were pressured to close at the end of April 2023 so corporate could meet their goals, and we are now facing ongoing repairs and issues with the craftsmanship inside the home. KB REALLY REALLY REALLY needs to pay better workers to come in and build the homes. You guys would save so much money in the long run. Stop thinking so short-term with your costs and just think what a glowing review we’d have left you if your craftsmanship would’ve been better. Also, if the home would’ve actually been completed in a timely fashion instead of thrown together at the last minute so you could make your closing goal for the month. We love our homesite and community, and the repairs will be completed in time, but we just wish KB would care more about the homes they are building. Get rid of your cheap labor and pay your people better so you get better quality workers in your homes. Foreign workers or not, don’t scrape the bottom of the barrel to save a buck, you’re now going to pay for it on the back end anyway. Not smart business, and not at all good for customer service. Your Superintendent Grant and Project Manager Justin have been awesome and responsive to our concerns, but they can’t fix shoddy craftsmanship because they can’t watch every homesite daily to catch the bad work. STOP SACRIFICING QUALITY TO SAVE A BUCK. It’ll be what I tell anyone who asks me if they should consider KB Homes; they sacrifice quality to make money. Build with them at your own risk. ... Más

There was an existing drainage issue. KB's representative and her manager assured us that the drainage would be addressed in a couple of months last November. It has been seven months, and my driveway was flooded with water last night after the rain. I tried to follow up, but there was no response.

Quality of work is kind of substandard. Stucco paint fell off in my front of the house. Laundry door is not shutting properly and misalign. A few items that was not being install during the walkthrough I have to go back to my list contract to provide those item. Nails found in our backyard . carpet installation not install properly and some other issues not to mention. Noted that this is my 2nd KB home that I purchase probably my last one. In fairness Troy, Chad and Klay are very helpful and professional.

Homes are worth maybe $400k from a value perspective, advertise starting at $540k with low grade fixtures, appliances, cheap lighting, cheap counter tops, other than kitchen, everything is low quality unless you pay for upgrades. After $120k in upgrades, you still have an unfinished basement, and lack things you should get standard. Lipstick on a pig best describes KB Homes value proposition.

Material used for home are cheap. Blue tape was taken lightly and not fixed appropriately. Claim calls have been great! Response has been fast.

Issues that were address at the beginning have not been fixed. I get told dates and still no one comes out. Would be nice to at least get an update.

Do not do your closing until the house is exactly ready and to your satisfaction they promise to do the outstanding work necessary and never have time once they get your money you are in your own.

Moving into a new house should be a wonderful experience. It's been a nightmare. I referred 2 people and now feel bad for them. I tell everyone I know to stay away. I still have issues after 2 months because KB hires the cheapest laborers amd then wonders why we as residents always call

For anyone looking to purchase a KBHome, buyer beware that you are about to embark on a rushed, confusing, and pressured experience. Before the purchase of our home and for an extremely short period thereafter, the responsiveness and ability to make promises made to assist, carry out requests, and fix issues were satisfactory. However, the follow-through on promises and communication regarding the status of issues have been extremely frustrating. It is clear that is important through the rushed purchase process that the company places utmost priority in getting a customer through to the finish line of purchasing but afterward, responsiveness, service, and customer-first attitude falls off a cliff. I had to escalate an email to upper management to receive any attention.. and it still not completed to date. The package is pretty at the surface, but the deeper you dig, the harder it is to stay in love with the deal you made. Also, please be weary of the $10,000 upfront that you need to put in that they don‘t tell you about to secure your purchase!! If you choose to back out, you lose $10,000. Ouch. ... Más

I think they need better supervision on the house works especially at the terminations that's ones are very bad

I get an astronomical amount of automated junk mail and calls from KB home. Representatives begging for survey scores rather than offering solutions. I get contacted more about surveys than I do from the post sale representative that is suppose to take care of my punch list.

I bought the home while still living in California which was a challenge but luckily I had friends in San Antonio that filled in for me on some important dates the first was the walkthrough on my new home my friends drove an hour to meet with the employees from KB homes they pointed out a few things and we're assured that they would be corrected. On the second and final walkthrough my friends again drove an hour to meet with KB homes employees some of the things that they had pointed out during the first walkthrough were corrected others were not like the refrigerator door was dinged up scratched and was unacceptable they were told it was on order another thing that wasn't taking care of was the painting that was noticeable in the entryway of the home they were assured it would be taken care of another thing that was not corrected was the water pressure was still very low they we're told that it was the way it is because of the rain type shower head that was installed in the home. I moved in a week later my friends met me here at the house because they had my keys garage door opener etc and they pointed out the things that were needed to be corrected and hadn't been the next day I met with Juan the project manager who came to my home and I pointed out the things that should have been taken care of prior to my arrival he told me that it wasn't him that met with my friends it was his employee who I can't remember his name my friends told me that it was one and the other guy that they met with the second time I was told then that the refrigerator doors were on back order and that they would be arriving soon it's been 2 weeks and the second door just arrived when I looked at the packing slip it said that they were not ordered until April 13th which was after I got here there's still spots that need to be retouched with paint and I keep getting promises that someone will show no one has taken care of it since. I'm a little disheartened at the response that I'm getting from Juan who apparently is the project manager of these things I've also pointed out a few other things to one that are unacceptable and I keep getting another promise I just hope that these things will be taken care of before the warranty expires. I just noticed and reported to one that there's condensation in the study windows and he assured me that it was still under warranty and would make note of it. I understand that with new homes little things like this come up but I'm not getting the response from KB homes that I should be in my opinion. I don't want excuses I want action and they seem to have failed on that level. I also appreciate someone taking responsibility instead of blaming someone else again I just hope that this is all taken care of soon as I'm settling into my new home it'd be nice to not have to worry about warranty expiration dates and response from a project manager. ... I've had a great experience with the salesperson - Joel and the loan originator - Michelle. They were easy to talk to and work with. However, I only got to know the construction superintendent a couple of days before my closing while I should have been in contact with him throughout the building process. After closing, I came to my house and noticed numerous issues such as dirty windows and bath tabs, and paint on the floor. I reported that but no one cared. My windows and bathtubs are still not clean. There was mold in my kitchen, I reported that but it's been a month and a half since they removed my cabinets, and haven't installed them back yet saying that we are waiting for the cabinets to arrive. ... There are some that go out of their way for service and others that use excuses as to why they can not help. The drainage of the lots are not into ponds or conservation area, and there is no recyclable water in phase 2, leaving very high water bills, no street lights, no amenities, and no customer service.

Finish at home to manny details, low quality materials, Iam very upset, i have before new home in other builders and the quality is very different

It was a frustrating process with multiple builder delays only to be left with incomplete items.

Sales staff was very nice and listen to our issue and addressed what they could. Loan department seemed to put minimal effort into giving us loan options or providing information about the different loan options, get a realtor you trust to help you. Construction was on schedule but did not repair all the issue identified during home inspection walk and was difficult to work with to address those issue.

Many of the trades did poor quality work. Now we are 2 months in the house and still waiting for them to come correct the mess they made. Extremely disappointed in this. I'm still looking for reasons to love this house, but it's been a struggle. As of right now, I would not recommend a KB home.

Trisha and Ed were amazing to work with. After we moved in is when we noticed craftsmanship issues and just the overall quality of work is not what I would say meets standards. We started to get issues fixed then that halted and we haven't heard back from anyone. The person who did our walk through said since it's after 30 days he can no longer help us and we needed to continue the process with Brandi, who has yet to return our call. Needless to say the sales office is amazing but the rest has fallen short.

Well............from the time we signed purchase agreement to move in, in between that period it was ok, it's when the walk through came up...I will stop right here because there is not enough space to leave a review for that. Overall, we are not happy to say the least.

The sales experience was good. During the build, some issues were brought up and were either VERY slow to address or never addressed at all. Clearly the sub-contractors rushed through their work to go on to the next job at the expense of sloppy, mediocre workmanship. Attention to detail is lacking. Communication was poor, to include nearly non-existent follow-up. Maybe this is all KB specific, or maybe it is industry wide with all the big builders. Either way, KB could do so much better by simply hiring a construction manager who was competent, organized, and communicates often and well.

I recently moved to vegas and was able to see the build on a regular basis. I identified way too many issues during the build that would have been detrimental if waited until after the final walk through. For starters, I paid to have the entire house insulated, all interior walls also. We had a wind storm one weekend after the insulation was in place causing it to blow out and all over the house as well as outside. The following week, they started drywall but no one replaced the missing insulation! I used a hanger to slide through the joints to show the contractor after the drywall had been screwed into place. There is more spots missing as I am starting to find hollow sound/temp changes. But it should have not been dry walled if they saw insulation blown all over the place. Next, the corners were to be sharp edge 90° corners. They were mudding the walls when I noticed they were bullnose not what I asked for. Again no QC. I was told there was not an AC unit available for my house and asked if I would accept a temp to close and a replacement would come later. I declined but miraculously a unit was installed. I don’t think this is my unit but I am not an HVAC guy. It looks like the units from 10 years ago. Also, The window frames were cracked in multiple places but they only patched them with vinyl patch. My light switches are far from where they “normally” would be expected, to include the master bathroom switch is located under my towel rack!!! …. I am addressing issues that I am still finding… I been reaching out but after 3 emails to Customer service over 10 days, I finally had someone respond and now I have repairs scheduled for this week. It was over 9 months to build, they could have taken a few extra days to ensure quality was behind the build process… very disappointed to the point I wish I would have not closed on the house and just waited for a different opportunity to build…. ...
