Ugh!! I love my home but this was truly the worst experience I have ever had. The sales associate I worked with was not honesty, especially at the beginning about times it would take to move in. I was told 3 months and it ended up being more like 8. I would have much rather heard honest answers than dishonest answers just to get me to sign the contract. The construction manager was a breath of fresh air to work with - so that is a huge positive!! I just hated feeling manipulated buying my first home. Hemos vivido en la casa más de 3 meses. Amamos la casa y el vecindario. Quedamos muy satisfechos con nuestro representante de ventas y el caballero que supervisó toda la construcción; los califiqué con "10". Sin embargo, he informado por escrito en numerosas ocasiones que el césped trasero es un pantano que nunca se drena, y KB Homes no está haciendo absolutamente nada al respecto. Cursed is the first word that comes to mind. From the price of our plan dropping $10k right after we sign our contract and not receiving consideration for the immediate loss in equity, to a headless doll being hung in our home multiple times, to being lied to about structural integrity of brick lintel installed, to still waiting on a cabinet door from the 4th preclosing walk 38 business days ago, the experience was exhausting. If it wasn't for the specific lot we would never have persevered the journey. Our construction superintendent Scott did his best to improve our experience, but the trades hired to do the work were terrible. The paint on the trim is atrocious and looks like a 20 year old apartment with the sloppy caulk work. Again, Scott did a great job of trying to remedy our disappointment, but was limited by the tools at his disposal. The push to close came near fiscal ens of year in Novemwber and KB threatened to take my deposit if I did not close on a house that was clearly not finished. This push brought to light that KB's messaging about delivering a "completed, clean home" is all lip service. It was a horrible purchasing experience. I have not moved into the house because of all of the stressed associated with the purchase. It still feel pressured, rushed and distasteful. Such a kill joy!

My experience building a home with KB Home has been incredibly frustrating and stressful from start to finish. The construction of my home was delayed repeatedly, with poor and inconsistent communication throughout the process. I was rarely given clear timelines or proactive updates, which made planning nearly impossible. Each delay came with little explanation and no accountability. Because I relocated from Connecticut, these delays cost me thousands of dollars in additional travel expenses. I had to make multiple trips just to check on progress because communication from KB Home was so poor and unreliable. Had updates been transparent and timely, many of these trips could have been avoided. What makes this even more unacceptable is that I was one of the first buyers on my cul-de-sac, yet every home around me was completed before mine. Watching later purchases get finished ahead of my home was incredibly frustrating and made it feel like my build was deprioritized once the contract was signed. Overall, this has been a stressful, expensive, and disappointing experience. Buying a new construction home should be exciting—this process has been the exact opposite. To start we are now in our home, we closed 6 weeks later than promised, but we moved in and the 10 day punch list items are completed. That being said, if you have already signed with KB to build, make sure you pay for an inspection before the sheetrock walk-through. We went with all of KB recommended partners, the broker, the title company, the insurance, etc. Not recommended as there is zero communication between the construction manager, sales manager, broker, closing company, insurance agents, sub contractors. We had issues every step of the way. It gets stressful when timing when you will be moving out of your current location and planning the logistics of your move in and with no tangible dates ever. Thankfully, we had a realtor that could put in the time to chase down some answers, but it was never confirmed we would actually be able to close until 2 days before and closing took for hours. Insurance was put in escrow along with taxes as standard practice. You can imagine our horror to find they never paid the insurance premium and we don’t have insurance although we paid. Experience not great, but had no choice of backing out sale.

KB allowed a convicted felon (many charges and jail time) to be in a supervisory position in the neighborhood, access to all the homes to be the one doing walk-thrus. He lies, represents himself as being able to do additional things for you (fencing, flooring, etc), takes your money and does not do the work. Dangerous

When purchasing i was real soecific on what i wanted and expected and from design center to end still have not resolved any issues or concerns i have asked from begining i get they are real buzy but i am the customer and didnt complain at all during anythin jus expected what i asked and paid for

the only bright spots in the entire affair were the builder and our third loan officer. Everything else was horrible. We received 13 different closing dates and were cancelled 3 times by letter. Our original loan officer was terminated and our second got sick, the third saved the day.

Nobody really knows what’s going on most of the time. They claim to be very good with communication, but the communication is solely through spam and automatic emails. We had countless issues along the way that were pushed off and were told “it’ll be fine don’t worry” to include our house being done 3 months early and them trying to force us to move in or lose the house. All of the issues we had could have been avoided with communication on their end between themselves and their higher ups. They know we aren’t happy and have tried to give us things to make sure we don’t give bad reviews or bad survey answers, but I would caution any person who is going to work with KB. I would not/will not ever build with or buy a KB home again. (Not even a preowned KB home) ... Más

Our home buying experience was anything but great. While we are happy to own our own home, KB Homes and KBHS made the building experience terrible while costing my family over $10,000 out of pocket due to their inability to close despite issuing a legal demand letter threatening to take our home away and cancel our contract if we couldn’t close, their refusal to allow us to use our own title company as permitted in our purchase agreement, their employees’ lack of professionalism, and the entire organization’s poor communication (builders, closing coordinators, and KBHS are all on different pages). KBHS and closing coordinators care more about meeting quarterly goals than they do delivering finished homes. We cannot recommend KB Homes to anyone. My husband and I recently purchased a move in ready home in Sanctuary Ridge. Prior to closing, we were told that our requests would be completed quickly. After being in our home now for almost two months, we still have incomplete work items and we cannot reliably get in contact with our representative. When we are able to contact the construction superintendent, he frequently dismisses, does not follow through, or won't provide timeframes for work completion. One example is that the toilet seat in our bathroom was broken and they would not replace it. We ended up fixing it ourselves. The overall process has been very poor. ... Más

Dishwasher, Microwave and Refrigerator had issues. Dishwasher and Refrigerator was serviced once. Microwave has been serviced by the Builder and then the homebuyer 2 times!!! Horrible. Brand new home and all three appliances had to be serviced? Microwave 3 times??? Bad experience. Will not recommend to family or friends.

Started out good. Appraisal was not what we expected. After living in the house for 1 month. And discovering the construction and item was poorly installed. Promises made for first 30 days to get a good review. Additionally, KB HoA contract stipulations is not in the best interest for homeowners when it comes to lot boundary lines to allow each homeowner to install their own fence. Looking at the overall quality, Very very poor. . You all are not recommended. All the best.

Not very happy with KB Home, and their loan officers and management. Loan officers never properly communicated with us. In the end we had to find a different lender. After the closing when we entered the house, there were things needed to be fixed. Here we are trying to get settled in the new home we were still calling the contractor to get the stuff fixed inside the home.

From the beginning I experienced irresponsibility, racism and disrespect to the costumer. My home has a broken tile,the banister is almost broken too, a skin with horrible quality and stained, the kitchen sink look like rusted. we were also asked to lie in order to give a good review to the company, the Superintendent offered us gifts if I gave her a good review. After that we started having more issues she ignored my messages, her name was Isabeau. So no, I won’t recommend this company AT ALL.

Following up with new home buyer would be nice!

After we picked the house we wanted, nothing was good or great after that. Mortgage company was horrible. We did a walk through previously with blue tape and signed off. When we moved in, nothing was fixed we had marked. Trying to get them to fix anything was like pulling teeth and we had to do some of it ourselves. When someone spends over $400,000 on a brand new house, the buyer shouldn't have to do quality control in the contractors job. Do not recommend.

The issues i am having with the home that i recently purchase at the Shadow Mountain community are the features in the module home and the finish product are way different. The island and food storage pantry are too small in the finished homes and is not similar in size that are shown in the module homes. The solar panels which are main features and selling point of the KB Homes are yet to activated and being used by the owners. Both Sun Power and the Electric company are giving run arounds on who to submit request for activation, I would have gone with Pulte Homes and used Sun Run for my solar panels supplier if I have known that was going to be an issue. ... This was the most horrible experience for buying a home, the aggressiveness and incompetent plus the misinformation of the sales team was the most unpleasant experience for buying a home. I am sorry but I will never refer anyone

I recently had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a home from KB Homes, and I must say it has been an absolute nightmare. From the moment we signed the contract, it became apparent that quality work and effective communication were not priorities for this company. First and foremost, the construction quality of the house was abysmal. It seemed as though corners were cut at every turn, resulting in a litany of issues. The paint job was uneven and sloppy, with visible streaks and blotches on the walls. The flooring was installed poorly, with several tiles already cracked at closing. Drywall imperfection ran rampant throughout the home, The irrigation was a disaster and non operational for TWO months. I also did not have DOOR KNOBS for close to a month after closing. The list goes on and on. It is disheartening to see such subpar craftsmanship, especially considering the substantial amount of money we invested in this home. Adding to the frustration, the lack of communication from KB Homes has been utterly disappointing. When we initially raised concerns about the quality of work, it took weeks for trades to complete work after notifying our super intendent. Even then, the responses were vague and unhelpful, leaving us feeling ignored and abandoned. It became apparent that once they had our money, they were no longer interested in providing any form of customer support. The lack of transparency and accountability from KB Homes is deeply concerning. It is clear that they prioritize profit over customer satisfaction, neglecting their responsibility to deliver quality homes and support their buyers. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I would strongly advise anyone considering a home purchase to think twice before choosing KB Homes. In conclusion, my experience with KB Homes has been nothing short of a nightmare. The poor quality workmanship and the company's complete lack of communication and accountability have made this a regrettable decision. Tyler was the only person from KB Homes who seemed genuinely concerned about our issues and took proactive steps to address them. He responded to our calls and kept me notified via a detailed texting format, and he made it a point to visit our home personally to assess the problems we were facing. His professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond was truly commendable and is something every single KB employee should aspire to provide their customers. ... Más

The communication with the head of construction was terrible

I paid cash for my home. I let myself be rushed instead of making sure the issues with my home were taken care prior to closing. I have paint splatters on the lvp flooring; on the concrete outside my home; paint on the carpeting; hot water heater didn’t work, and though I let the super know it took a bit for it to be repaired by the plumbing company; the cabinet in the master bathroom was not repaired; the cabinet molding was not replaced; all the bathtubs are scratched; the cultured marble in the secondary bathroom is chipped; the kitchen sink is scratched like it was used by the builder and someone tried to clean but used an abrasive which scratched the stainless steel. So yes, I’m not a happy customer. Oh, and the Sheetrock in the garage has screw holes all over. Probably a screw up from another house. The list goes on… ... Más
