The closing process was a disaster. The house was not complete by the closing. I moved in 2 months ago and still trying to get things fixed that were noticed at the walk through prior to close. I have been disappointed at every step of this process.

Home wasn’t ready when promised. Allowed to close without CO. Had to go to hotel. Oven didn’t fit. No kitchen for 3 weeks. Cabinets broken. House was dirty. Floor wasn’t laid level. Bumps and hills throughout. Hollow tiles throughout. Upstairs creeks. Grout not straight and spilled throughout the home. Doors not level. Stairs rails not secured. Grout accidentally used in stead of caulking. Made promises to have things done but almost 8 weeks and punch list still not done. Not even paint. Trades make appointments but never show. If we could get our money back we would move out. No one is happy in our neighborhood. Workmanship is laughable. Trades have stated they are pushed too hard and cant do quality work. NIGHTMARE. ... My experience with Lennar has been horrible.. Since day one I wanted to buy a house with a loan and the person a spoke to thought it was cash and obviously they waited until closing day to contact me and that was a huge problem.. going from buying cash to a loan and I almost lost my deposite which is 10% of the house values ( crazy) if this was my first house I would never want to go through that also because Lennar people are not helpful at all.. honestly I don’t have time to do this but I do not recommend friends or family to buy from Lennar.. I do have experience with Dr Horton and they’re great from costumer service, they help and guide costumer so well something that lennar doesn’t do ohhhh and they don’t keep your money if something goes wrong with the loan/house and you guys take peoples savings with no remorse.. there’s so many things that I would love to say here but don’t have the time to be typing.. So I finally got my house with a lot of problems and needed something to be fix right away and I was told that wasn’t lennars problem and then I was told to contact John buscemi which he doesn’t answer his phone or reply to emails. Home was not ready for closing! Still waiting for items to be addressed 2 month after closing.

It’s very sad to get the service response and no good enough information shared ahead. I am following up almost two months keep o. Reporting issues but very few of them were resolved

extremely poor performance on Lennar's part. the house is still not complete two months after "forced" closing. now paying on a property that we cannot move into since construction is still not complete. no response or follow up on their part. would not recommend this company to anyone.

Simply stated, our experience has been dreadful.

If I could give no stars I would. From the second we filled out an application, the rest of the process went lower than rock bottom. We spoke to our finance person (Mary Jo) ONE time and that was after calling/emailing numerous times. I finally reached out to Ali (man in the model home) letting him know that we have been trying to get ahold of her with no call back. This happened several times as we did have questions along the way because Mary Jo NEVER updated us on ANYTHING. The one time she did talk to us she rushed us off the phone stating she was very busy. Ma'am we are all busy, so you saying my 6 figure house application to help your company doesnt matter? yea, ok. We really wanted this house and thats the only reason we proceeded. Ali was well aware of our frustrations through out the entire process. Finally our house was done being built and our FISRT walkthrough came up which went well. Of course, SOOOOO MANY missed things on the painters part, flooring, and cabinetry. There were several places that were not painted...at all..did not even have texture on them. Pieces of vinyl flooring did not touch each other leaving concrete underneath exposed. When we asked about it to the construction manager, Bart, he said there is nothing they can do about it. The cabinetry had several and noticeable scuffs and scratches on them. They said the painters can touch them up. about a month prior to the tentative closing date they gave we tried and tried to see about when closing would be and no one ever reached out to us. We spoke to Ali and he stated it would be a virtual closing. (made sense because our previous home was closed virtually) A week before our closing date they call us asking us if we could COME IN the next day to close. They said they dont know why they said would tell us we would close virtually. We asked for another day and they said they is the only time we can close. So now they inconvenienced us because we cannot just take off on our schedules like that without notice. We gave them a time and they said to come in and they will try to work us in. At this point, we were beyond frustrated and just wanted it to be over. We went in and never saw Mary Jo (who they said we would close with). Once we closed we went to the house to find about half of the touch ups completed. No touch ups were done on the cabinets and the paint jobs were sloppy (had drips on flooring and some spots were not painted at all). Of course we couldnt do a "Final walk through" before closing because they stated they are working on the mistakes found and no one knew when we would close. Also, Please check your fencing. They use a nail gun and on week 1 of being in the house the fence boards were coming off. We went and had to put screws in every one of them. My advice would be to use Lennar as last resort. I know these houses are thrown together over night and use different contractors for different tasks but if they would all just take their time and take pride in their work and not have someone always have to come behind them to correct their poor workmanship then they might actually have received a better review. To many mistakes in the construction phase broken window glass and sliding glass doors to the lanai leaking water in the sink!!! Terrible

Very poor customer service. Very rude management.

Once we moved in it was warranty claims after warranty claims that take months to get repair and yet it still hasn’t been done.

Been months since we purchased and so many issues still not rectified!!!

Workmanship is inferior and many of the materials that were used should never have been used. I’ve been in my house for only 2 months and already considering selling it.

Worst home buying experience only except for my realtor. Would never buy another Lennar home or recommend to anyone!!

The reason my husband and I chose Lennar for our recent home purchase in Inman SC was based on a prior experience with purchasing a Lennar home in Summerville SC in 2017. Every person we interacted with back then was sincere, thorough and pleasant. It was such a smooth process. Our experience this go around has been the opposite. I will say Robert, our loan officer with Lennar, was amazing and the only reason we didn’t take our business elsewhere. Everyone else we have interacted with has not been a positive experience. Now having an ongoing issue with our upstairs bathtub due it being damaged and repaired prior to closing and not properly reinforcing the tub floor. We have been in our home for just over a month and already the the floor of the tub is cracked. A customer care rep came to my house and said he could easily just deny the claim but because he is being nice Lennar will repair the floor of our tub when we sign a paper forever absolving Lennar, their subcontractors and suppliers of responsibility from future issues with the tub. He said the plumber would still cover their work for a year but we needed to sign paper to have the work done or we could fix it ourselves. He said the issue is cosmetic and not covered. I explained a hole in the floor of the tub because it was not supported properly is not cosmetic. The tub is unusable and not our fault. I asked if the plumber was a Lennar subcontractor and he said yes. I asked how can he say the plumber will honor a warranty for their work if the paper he wants signed says otherwise. He told me the only person that could approve the repair without the agreement of waiving the warranty would be his supervisor. I tried calling his supervisor and have not been able to receive a response. I just want the tub reinforced, repaired and have the warranty still honored. Currently my family is all using our primary bathroom to shower. This is unacceptable. ... Más

This was our first new build experience with Lennar and will probably be our last. 1) The salesperson, while initially helpful, friendly, and professional during the sales process, was not very helpful after we were pressured to close before the house was finished. He made a LOT of promises to follow up on punch list items immediately within two weeks during the final walk-through and then essentially washed his hands after we closed on November 30th. When we followed up, he would use the excuse of only being able to do so much since he is “only” a salesperson. And that he needed to clear things with management each time. We doubt if he even reached out to anyone for clarification and used “management” as an excuse to not provide adequate answers. It has been six weeks since closing and we are still dealing with open items and haven’t been able to rent it out as planned until the major issues are fixed. 2) We went with Lennar on everything: mortgage, title, etc.… And no one knew how to communicate. I was the primary buyer, my wife isn’t even on the mortgage, but they kept sending communications to her and not to me. The emails kept going to her spam messages. When I finally had access to the documents with Lennar Mortgage / Lennar Track, there were documents several documents that were uploaded a month prior, that would have been helpful to me as the buyer. Even this survey was sent to the wrong person. We started looking at other investment properties, this time in the Phoenix area and passed on several developments once we found out they were Lennar developments. ... Más

The walkthrough was a joke. Chris didn't want to be there and it showed. He explained nothing. All of the issues could have and should have been addressed before the walk through. It was left with you have a year to find all other issues. We have been without the original garbage disposal for over 2 weeks now. As far as the builder is concerned I don't have a garbage disposal. The contractor who was suppose to cover the disposal said that because they only cover the install and I took it off and had to replace it. They would not do anything. The initial purchasing process was pretty straight forward. Our sales rep was extremely nice and progressional/helpful. We agreed to purchase our home and sent in our earnest money. Fast forward a few months later, we lost communication with our rep and we later found out she had left the company for undisclosed reasons. Fast forward even more and we are approaching closing. Our initial orientation walk through was “ok” but we noticed MANY MANY MANY issues with the home from a cosmetic and attention to detail standpoint. There were extensive issues with poor paint job/baseboards in poor condition/dust and dirt everywhere/paint on carpet/nails through cupboards and noticeable through the painted drywall/poor caulking/misaligned cabinets and doors just to name a few. Now many issues were resolved by closing but it was almost as other issues popped up which were not addressed. It is unfortunate, even though they state that the homes have a set timeframe to finish it was clear that our home was either rushed due to it being near the end of their fiscal year and/or the subcontractors hired to complete the job blatantly did not care about the quality of their work or were rushed as well. They are all adamant that they “do not know how much the homes cost” but that is an absurd statement. They also use lower end materials in regards to baseboards/window trim and paint. We also paid for the upgraded “luxury” package or something like that but it sure didn’t feel that way. The price should not matter but if you are paying for a certain price than I think it’s fair to expect a certain standard and Lennar does not meet those standards as promised. Took too long to build and then the build was sloppy.

Quality of workmanship&materials: A window was covered with sheet rock and went unnoticed until weeks after closing. Another builder acknowledged and took care of the issue. Painters were super messy, lots of paint dripping throughout the house. Did not hear from my builder. Trustworthiness: There was not a good repore with my last builder and I did not trust him. There were no apologies made for the mistake, he was not willing to suggest or recommend any product for grout; or provide model or serial numbers for appliances to be registered after taking pictures and saying they would send it to me. Value for the price paid: the increase in cost from the start of building the community to closing coupled with the interest rate was overpriced. Responsiveness to issues: From the sales representative to the last builder, not one apology took place. It felt like a cover up. The sales rep sent us the wrong closing date creating scheduling conflicts for appliances and cable. Had the one builder not corrected the window issues I don't believe my builder would have said a word. I believe he lied and said he sent the builder to fix the window. The conversation we had with the builder did not line up with that statement. This is our 5th home, the smallest, the most expensive, and the worst customer service. ... Más

Worst experience i ever had in buying a home

Very expensive house not worth the money. Lennar give you incomplete house. My house was with no gutters and took them 6 to 7 weeks to install gutters. Garage door still missing side trim. Horrible electricity, when plugged any device it tripped the circuit breaker. Windows are not soundproof. Bad window screens can’t pull up or has no pull tabs. Doors are defected. Doors broken at strike plate. Towel and toilet paper holders loose and came out many times. Numerous paint and drywall defects. Terrible exterior molding defects. Kitchen cabinets has many cracks. It takes them long time to fix anything. Our representative did not come with us in the walkthrough twice. His excuse was he is busy and Lennar has shortage of staff! You will feel depressed instead of feeling happy in your new home. Horrible customer care! ... Más

I am a repeat customer with Lennar. Technically I purchased with Cal Atlantic my first home and about a month before closing, Lennar took over. However, my home stayed with Cal Atlantic team until closed and it was a wonderful experience from beginning to finish. The Cal Atlantic sales team was thorough and welcoming and even met me on the day of move in to walk my home. I never put in a single work order. Since Cal Atlantic got bought out by Lennar, I figure that they would have the same quality and customer service, but boy- Lennar is way inferior to Cal Atlantic. The buying experience was terrible, I didn’t know who I bought from and could barely get to respond to my emails and text messages. I bought at a high time and lennar must have banked on capitalizing on that because they provided NO customer service. However, how you treat people comes back to bite you and I am seeing that. The market has shifted. It didn’t stop there- we didn’t have anyone walk us to our home on the day of close (they can’t use Covid as an excuse) as we closed in October 2022. Lennar is just lazy. Our house was a wreck, the details were horrible, this was nothing like the model. Cabinets has dents, nails protruding, my shower head didn’t have hot water until 7 mins, and didn’t have any pressure. No electricity in some rooms, leak under sink, dish washer not mounted, dents in baseboards, cracks in tubs, the lists goes on and on. When speaking and follow up to customer service, they were dishonest and kept on trying to tell, my shower because it’s in the master that it’s hard to get water up there. I called a plumber and there were rocks and debris that were in the shower head causing the issue. Lennar tries to tell you that these things are normal so they don’t have to come back and fix it. But it’s been a horrible experience with entering work orders, you have to waste your personal time to wait for them to call you virtual to verify and take photos . Then you have to wait for a trade to call you to schedule and be home for the trade. It’s a full time job and will take away from your time working. It’s ridiculous. Our street, 50% of the homes have active leaks from the rain right after moving in because of missing roof tiles. Thank goodness our gutters installation caught ours and notified us before the rain otherwise we would have been in that count. Do better, Lennar! Stop being crooks and taking people’s hard earned money and start living what your company core values are. Start with honesty and quality. ... Más

I don't want to give a single star to Lennar. My home buying experience with Lennar is my worst and biggest mistake of my life and i'll not recommend to my friends and colleagues to buy a home specifically from Lennar.

We almost pulled out of the purchase after we were misled on closing dates and the reason why our home was delayed. The project was poorly managed and the builder tried to blame the utility company but the truth was Lennar failed to secure a timely building inspection. The communication from the sale agent was appalling, we were encouraged to sign our contract on the Wednesday only to be told 16 hours later that the close date of the following day Friday was again delayed. This was my 21st home purchase/sale in 32 years and my second new home construction purchase and I would not buy with Lennar again. I am appalled at the failure to communicate in a timely manner and to relay the true reasons for delays. To top it off when we finally closed escrow, 2 months late, we picked up our keys and garage door openers only to be given the opener for our neighbors garage door. Honestly the miscommunication, disorganization and inefficiency made me not want to buy the house... ... Más
