We were pushed to close on time even thought the morning of closing the house wasn’t 100% complete. We were not in a rush and we’re happy to wait until the house was completed. They were still tiling the backsplash and had several other loose ends to wrap up. The majority of the obvious work was completed but it took weeks to finally get a cleaner in there to finish everything up. After we occupancy we had a major water backup issue. The drain line was clogged with construction debris and caused water to flood the downstairs bathroom from the toilet. The emergency response team for the warranty was amazing. They had a plumber and a water remediation team out within hours. I was happy with the concern and urgency they displayed. I do feel like it’s a problem that could have been easily avoided. I feel like everyone was rushed at the end in order to get us to close before the house was ready and people got sloppy. I’m sure it’s common for the main drain line to get clogged. They could have avoided a bad experience and big mess if they had just tested it. We purchased a home in 2021. The entire buying process was okay, nothing stood out until the end. We could not fly in because of covid and the closing experience was bad. They tried to give us a virtual walkthrough but the video quality was terrible and very few issues were detected. When we arrived, I made a list of a lot of issues I detected in the house. A LOT. Response to fixing the issues is good. The person responding to maintenance requests is great. While I appreciate the customer service, it's also a lot of time involved in having to fix the issues because we have 5+ people coming in every other month for all the issues we've found. Can Pulte just hire someone that does quality assurance before giving out the keys? When we pay for the house, we don't come saying, "hey, we only have 95% of the money we promised, we did our best", right? It's the same way when delivering the house to us. You can't come 95%. ... Surprised by the upgrades during the process.

Buying process was a cinch. There were delays but nothing out of the ordinary. The construction aspect of the home left much to be desired. We have encountered numerous issues already (although Rich and the team are wonderful in their responsiveness and willingness to help) and have been disappointed that we've had to deal with these things in a new home.

We were very disappointed with the stone veneer on the front of the house; it doesn't go all the way to the ground I haven't seen any other homes in this development with the stone veneer. All the homes with brick or siding go all the way to the ground. We were told something about water seepage but that was incorrect. We were told it was a code thing but the inspector came out, he said it had nothing to do with the code. And then we were told that that's just the way Pulte does it. It looks absolutely horrible! I can't imagine that Pulte would be proud of this. No one from Pulte has offered to fix it or make it look better. Do not choose the stone veneer! ... Más

Trying to correct mistakes with supervisors by text and emails is very hard, with no replies.

I had a fairly good experience. However, when the close date moved twice, it caused all other planned transactions (movers, internet) to be pushed which was a challenge.

The quality of the home built out was to put it mildly some of the worst workmanship I have ever seen. Very disappointing to have spent so much money for the final product. Started a punch list for items to be remediated in the future.

The house design is beautiful. However the construction workers are somewhat sloppy, careless, and needed closer construction manager supervision. After delivery, we found so many construction errors that could have been detected and corrected prior to closing. I do not want to mention error details but the list is long. The good thing is that the post closing construction manager is on top of our requests. He has been able to correct several of the mistakes. But the saga continues… All other aspects of the buying process went very well.

Overall Good Experience So Far!

Push to get us in by year end left some items unfinished or rushed.

We were told no more basements, so we picked a different model with more sqft. Yet right next door a few months in there was a basement being dug. Poor communication in the end, with completion date being pushed back a few times. Very poor paint job inside, even the touch ups were not good. Mistakes made on electrical outlets and what not, and one that led to a large hole being made in one of the walls to fix it (patch job doesn’t look good). I realize I didn’t spend a half million on a high quality home, but I did spend money on a new home that I expected to be better than what it is. Very little clean up from the workers and see trash and debris on the street all the time. ... Más

I am liking my space.

Sadly the quality of the subcontractors’ work was shoddy and needed a specialist team to be engaged to fix the myriad issues in all rooms of the house. The house was nowhere near ready on our “celebration walk through”. Covid supply chain issues aside, there were too many shortcuts taken in the building of our home. We still have unresolved issues 2 months after closing.

The buying process went OK Watching the progress of the build was very interesting How ever the final steps went wrong and we were delayed moving in this was terrible.

They need to be more proactive after you buy your home.

Everyone has been very nice and Daniel has always been helpful and has responded to our questions and issues in a timely manner. Our complaints are with the quality of finish work and painting that leave a lot to be desired. We know everyone is busy and on time schedules but this is the last home we planned to buy and really didn't want "projects" when it was "move-in ready", plus we invested a lot of money to buy the home! Dealing with paperwork online (with people in Colorado) was confusing for us... we are not up with modern technology and we were often very frustrated with the process. We love the location and our neighbors and wish we didn't have issues with what has been mentioned. ... Más

We love South Carolina and Oakfield had great eye appeal as we drove through the development. We felt it checked our boxes. However, the quality of the built is mediocre at best and we feel the cost of the house was way too expensive for the workmanship/quality that was delivered. Unfortunately, we feel we will have many repairs to make along the way. They have already begun.

Of all the homes builders at Rocking K, we felt that PULTE was the best choice.
