Brad will make your new home buying experience a joy. He is helpful, thorough and very responsive. The team made the experience very pleasant and I am very happy with the final result. Lots of material choices at the design studio with reasonably priced upgrades.

I think the job they did on the house was well done. Overall the quality is great. Some minor fixes are required, but overall great.

We had a good experience with Richmond American and the house we were provided with we like a great deal; we believe it meets our needs and expectations for the most part. Their customer service is impeccable, and all follow up and questions are addressed promptly. Yet, there are improvement areas in terms of attention to detail in the workmanship as well as the follow up of rollover items pre and post move-in that need to be addressed to make the experience great and completely satisfactory.

From beginning to end, the Richmond American team have been attentive to detail and had the best communication with my husband and I during the home buying process. The sales agent, super intendant and home care specialist were always professional, personable and was always available to answer my questions.

Love my home however we did 2 walkthroughs prior to close to make a list of things that needed to be addressed. None of those things have been addressed. Despite the “ warranty” I cannot get anyone to answer me. I have called, put work orders in and I am ignored. I have a door that won’t even close! Overall I do love my house but do not sign closing documents until everything is correct. You will never hear from them again

Bought a brand new home with Richmond Homes via our own realtor and mortgage broker. Whole process was smooth, minus our first original interested house being sold beneath us the day we said we will put in an offer. We lucked out though and got a better lot anyway. The disappointment lays within the craftsmanship. We had paint run off on the roofs, blue tape from BOTH inspections not taken care of until we pushed and pushed and pushed for a fix but the pre inspection lady just brushed it off and said “that’s just a smudge, it will wipe off”, when clearly it was not. We have lived in our new home for 3 weeks, and had people in and out the entire time to fix things. We still have the interior of the front door to be painted as it never was, and garage door to be repainted as it was half assed, nails on our roof not take down, wires sticking out for no reason outside, and the thinnest layer of mulch laid down with no weed prevention so we have weeds growing through already. Communicating has been a rough road, you have to fight to get anything done that should have been done BEFORE we moved in and did address prior. Now we have to rearrange our schedules to do these appointments and have random contractors show up without appointments. So yeh, house looks nice, you pay the price, and then you open the book and you see the cheap labor. Maybe improve on the labor you hire, final quality and communication. Interior paint is the worst quality of paint I have ever seen in any house, let alone a new house. Very inflexible seller on walk through times and warranty doesn’t cover things one might think it does. It was probably a mistake to pay extra for add ons as I don’t like the GE washer but blinds very nice and installed nicely and the refrigerator was exactly what I wanted. Enjoy the house and I hope it is a long term purchase. Nice realtor and head construction person did extra to help me as I lived and work hours from where the purchase was.

Weekly status updates of the our home construction with pictures from Graham was great and very helpful.

Our builders representative was not responsive or helpful. Several time requests for information were ignored or delayed.

During the homebuying process, I was lied to about many different things and almost walked away from the company due to trust issues. Do not believe the sellers when they tell you anything. Get it in writing, although they will go back on that as well. They are only telling you things to get you to buy the product. The mortgage company that partners with Richmond American is manipulative and will not work with you until you threaten to leave them and get a mortgage elsewhere. Recommend refinancing as soon as possible if you did go through them. The overall quality of the house is adequate. Many details are missed throughout the home. Although there was plenty of time to finish the house, the finishing touches were rushed and repainting led to a lot of paint on the floor throughout the house. The carpet has many different items underneath it and is not smooth. It will need to be replaced as soon as we can afford it. There are many things about the house that I wish I could have done something before such as the discolored wood in the back fence since it has been there for so long, the sod used is not good, and the longer cabinet shelves do not have a middle of the shelf support. There were good things about the home and buying process, but if we weren't so attached to the area and the floor plan, we would have gone elsewhere for sure. No pride in the quality of finish work for the home and promises that things would be fixed but were made worse or didn’t fix at all. Currently have my entire kitchen in my new home torn apart by a disaster relief company due to screws in a water line when the siding was put on the home. It’s been leaking for months prior to me owning the home and now I also have mold. Poor communication for the repairs of the kitchen and unwillingness to fix their poor finish work in the house because it fits their tolerance for new construction. During the tear out of the damaged cabinets due to the water line we have found food garbage and tons of construction material like cut up boards, wads of tape, old caulk tubes, busted up sheet rock. All of this was left behind and then the counter top was put on so it would never be seen. With all the issues I wonder if the rest of the house will hold up considering I’ve only been in the home for 30 days. ... Más

Not good the who did the initial walkthrough, is not trustworthy, she told things after we closed on the house. When we asked questions about parts missing on the house she became angry and argumentative. Very bad customer service!

First, for future buyers, read reviews on the builder to know what you’re facing. Next and most important is to have an inspection. There was mold in both the attic and crawlspace and now I cannot get signed documents that remediation was done. I plan to have another inspection done at 10 months. Take several people with you who have great attention to detail capabilities before you buy! The workmanship is substandard! I will have to have the eaves sprayed for mold and the whole house repainted in the next 2-3 years. There is some exposed wood visible on the exterior. At a month now, several doors will not close and the back sliding glass door cannot lock! I have a list of 20+ items that need attention. Had I seen the poor workmanship, I may not have bought this house. The financial process was a very rushed, daily nightmare with so many daily emails, some contradictory that I didn’t sleep for several days wondering what’s next. The onsite representative and Title experience were great. My best advice: Be aware before you sign! ... Más

I recently purchased a home built by Richmond American Homes, and my overall experience has been far from satisfactory. Here’s a detailed review highlighting the issues I’ve encountered: Subfloors Bowed: The subfloors in my home were noticeably bowed from the beginning. Unfortunately, this issue requires major repair. Walking across uneven surfaces is frustrating, and I worry about the long-term impact on the structure. Cheap Materials: Richmond American Homes seem to have prioritized cost-cutting over quality. The cabinets, doors, trim, paint all appear to be low quality. For the price I paid, I expected better materials that would stand the test of time. Lack of Attention to Detail: The lack of craftsmanship is evident throughout the house. From crooked trim to mismatched paint, it’s clear that the builders didn’t take pride in their work. Even basic finishing touches were overlooked. Nails Coming Through Carpet: Imagine my surprise when I stepped on a nail poking through the carpet on the stairs! Not only is this uncomfortable, but it’s also a safety hazard. Proper installation procedures were clearly ignored. Curved Walls: Some of the interior walls have noticeable curves, which affects the overall aesthetics of the home. Straight walls are a basic expectation, especially in a new build. The lack of precision is disappointing. Nail Pops: I’ve already had several nail pops in the drywall. These unsightly bumps indicate poor construction practices. It’s frustrating to deal with repairs so soon after moving in. Shingles Not Securely Fastened to Roof: During a recent storm, I noticed loose shingles flapping in the wind. Proper installation and secure fastening are critical for a durable roof. Richmond American Homes clearly fell short in this regard. Holes in Siding Patched with Caulking: Instead of addressing siding issues properly, the builders opted for a quick fix—caulking over holes and gaps. This not only looks unprofessional but also raises concerns about water infiltration and insulation. In summary, my experience with Richmond American Homes has been disappointing. I urge potential buyers to hire a professional inspector to thoroughly inspect the workmanship, materials, and attention to detail before committing to a purchase. We were so excited to get into our new home. He likes the area and the sidewalks and the amenities nearby. However or happiness quickly went away on our walkthrough with Nicole at McCormick trails. She was incredibly unprofessional and abrupt, maybe because it was a Friday afternoon and she wanted to end her work week, we don't know. She was literally walking a few yards in front of us talking and walking fast like she wanted to get things done asap. We had questions and we were constantly belittled by her as she made us feel like we were stupid for asking them in the first place. My wife and I kept looking each other like we did something wrong. The entire walkthrough was like this from start to finish. After we were done she quickly got her car and left. Left a very bad taste in our mouth. But it doesn't stop there. Then for final walkthrough we had to endure the complete unprofessionalism and rudeness of Preston. As soon as I stepped out of my car I was so excited to see the house again as we're moving in soon. I went to introduce myself but instead Preston said is there anybody else with you and looked at his watch as it was 5 minutes before the start of the walkthrough and apparently he needed to get things done and wanted to start early. I explained to him that our realtor was nearby and wanted to a company us. Preston said I don't know why your realtor with you because I'm not changing anything in the house and we don't have to do anything that they point out. I then asked him if I did something wrong ? And then introduced myself, and try to get off on a better foot. Rather than be friendly and have a conversation you again was very coarse and said we don't even have to have Realtors come with us if we don't want to in fact we don't like having them here. At that point I just stepped away from him and waited until she arrived. What transpired after that was absolutely shocking. There was some painting that still needed to be done the mantle was not level in a few other things Etc and he literally said and I quote we don't have to fix that, or we're not going to do that, I've never run across anybody that was so immature and rude in that type of setting. He even raised his voice at us as we were getting frustrated trying to explain what we wanted. We would never want any of our friends to buy a house from Richmond American and go through the process that we did. I could explain further but I understand this is a limited space. Even as we are living in the house now, we try to not have any contact with either of theme. It was a very very odd and surprising chain of events to day the least. ... Más
