Richmon construction team have been using my electricity and nobody has respond to my requests about this inconvenience

I work in the remodel/rehab and new residential and commercial construction industries. The home I purchased fails to meet basic, minimum industry standards. Poor finish work. Five weeks since close and still not moved in because repairs not complete. Unskilled labor executing tasks requiring high-level, specific skills (skip trowel texture). New windows won’t open and told that’s how they are. False. Threshold improperly installed and told that’s how it is. False. Four property walks later and only the drywall and texture issues addressed, but these repairs were inadequate to the point the walls need completely refloated and retextured. Lack of follow through by builders warranty/repair team. There’s much, much more. Cabinets damaged, toilet seat damaged, air gap cover wrong color, screen dented and hanging off window, toilet paper holder ripped off wall, handrail severely lacking prep work, two different color caulking used on tile floor, tiles in shower cracked, doors warped, door handles loose enough to fall off, cutouts in drywall some of the worst I’ve ever seen, repair team dripped paint all over tile, paint job is absolutely horrible and that’s an understatement, multiple roof tiles were severely damaged, window frames and sliding door frame scratched, exterior paint lacking coverage in multiple areas, pavers for patios and driveway not level…and more. ... It started from the beginning where the sales rep wasn't sure about how to input our info. We ended up having to do these forms about correct names due to her not entering our driver's license correctly and it went down hill from there. The superintendent got fired and there were a lot of things wrong with the build and still are until the warranty person comes. Guest bathroom is a mess and most of the products used were cheaply made. Overall experience was poor.

My experience has been bad from the start. We originally wanted to design our own house but the lot we wanted “wasn’t available yet” so we decided on a pre approved plan. It was also on a corner and the bedroom and larger side of the yard was on the corner side away from the neighbors. We were assured this is the exact layout of the house we were buying and happy with our purchase. Then They built it “flopped” or reverse so now it’s jammed against the wall, our bedroom and large side is against the neighbors. This is exactly what I didn’t want. We were told by Gina, in the fine print the builder can do anything, anytime, for any reason and we’re stuck with this. There was virtually 0 communication from the builder A.B during the process. We had none of the pre walks of anything before our punch walk. At this time there were about 50 issues, including no heat, missing faucet, cracked countertop, missing lights, a loose paver at the entrance, missing backsplash, dirty inside, paint all over the concrete. I can go on and on. After closing we didn’t move in for a week because we made a deal with the new builders Tom and Dan, to take care of the issues. After a week not 1 single thing was done. After that week I brought my kids to their new house and my 7 year old daughter tripped on the loose paver and fell. This is her first experience at our new home. Since moving in they have slowly addressed some of the major items, but barely touched the list and we still have incomplete items all over. 2 weeks ago our A/C stopped working. It took 2 weeks to fix. There are so many things that need to be fixed, and the worst part is the quality of the craftsmanship mainly on the interior trim/doors/base. Every time I look at a door I get so frustrated because they all look awful. Walking down the entry hall you can see every stud in the wall. It looks so bad. I have sent emails and texts and pictures to the builder and to Richmond homes corporate asking for help. I always get the same response. Nothing. I don’t know what to do at this point. I have been slowly fixing things when I have time, but I work 10-12 hrs at my job. The only people who have made an effort to help us are Tom and Dan, but now they avoid us. I’m so tired of asking Richmond for help. For as much as I paid I deserve a complete functional house. ... Más

Darren looked to be burned out. Just did not care. Issues not resolved. To many issue still no resolved. Paul is now taken over for Darren and very hard to get ahold of and not getting communication on issues getting finalized. Emille was the worst. Not truthful Did not support the home office stated items that we were to have in our home that was not true. Of the 7 homes I have purchased she was the worst. She should not be apart of your company. It’s all about her and will lie talk down RAH I fill she scammed us . We do love our new home however and can’t wait for the list of issue get fixed by Paul ... Más

If I would have no I would be going through so many issues with Richmond I would have never purchased a house. They have horrible communication and never get anything done when you TRY and get ahold of them. I explained to them how I didn’t want the supervisor on our property to do anything to try and get our issues resolved but still nothing has happened. The only reliable person was jose . He helped us purchase the house but other than that the first time home buying experience with Richmond in sahuarita has been horrible. Please really look into it before you buy. I do not recommend.

Baseboards aren’t straight, tile squares don’t line up, inside is horribly painted( paid 4k extra for that), granite countertops have paint all over them. Brand new carpets stained from workers. Cabinets are falling apart( again paid 6k extra for those) no hot water presssure in the shower. I could go on for days with the things wrong with this house. After paying almost a half a million dollars I expected my house to be in new condition. Would never recommend anybody to buy from Richmond American

I’d like to let Richmond know this will be my last time buying a Richmond home. Although Sonja was an excellent representative for the company as her character always shined when we were around and continues to shine now if we need anything. She is really top notch!! Tim our superintendent was awesome and took care of us and still handles anything we need. My complaint or concerns are with the Richmond finance team. When I first walked through the doors, Richmond extended some offers if my family and I were to use Richmond finance and purchase before a certain month. Well my wife and I fell in love with the sapphire home. We had private financing already but we chose to use Richmond financing due to the incentives. I was pre approved and we were in our way. Then I get a call from the finance team saying Richmond can no longer move forward with my loan. This was unfortunate because Richmond also pulled all the incentives and 17k in closing costs that they were offering. What a swing of emotions, financials and trust Richmond displayed. My wife and I still decided to move forward with the home. My family and I lost out on heat incentives and 17k of closing all because Richmond put their needs above the customers needs. Never again!!! If it wasn’t for the amazing customer service Sonja and Tim had displayed throughout the build, my family and I would’ve taken our business elsewhere!!! I’m sorry Richmond you missed the opportunity to get all five stars due to your finance team and your company’s unwillingness to meet a customer’s expectations of everything I had heard about Richmond American Homes! We were told to sign and close escrow, even though the house was not finished. We were promised items on our walk through list would be repaired and finished before closing. Nothing was fixed, we’re three month in. Made two mortgage payments and the repairs are still not done. All our bathroom light fixtures were broken or damaged. Our dryer was damaged, we were told that it was all set up for us to call GE Cares. Called GE Cares. They had no record of our house even having GE appliances. I understand there are many other houses that also need attention. The construction of the house really isn’t that high quality. Its craftsmanship was very poor and rushed. We had a bow in our family room wall. A dry wall specialist said it wasn’t his fault. It was plumbing and left. I would not recommend buying a Richmond Home. ... Más

GET EVERYTHING DONE BEFORE CLOSING, even punch list items that they promise will get done asap because even these have been an absolute pain in the rear to get taken care of. And you think that's hard, warranty is absolute garbage, you have to get the top manager involved or you won't be getting a response. I wish we had not rushed final closing, and delayed closing like some of our neighbors did, because we are over a month from when we closed and are still waiting for punch list items to be finished. At this point we're about to start opening up complaints in an effort to get people to move their butts. ... Más

Poor responsiveness to issues. Disorganization and lack of commitment to provide good service. Outstanding service items from initial walk through left with no follow through, and I’ve been in the home for 3 months. I have reached out to corporate, left messages and sent emails to sales, with no response. This is my second Richmond American home and the worst follow through in service I have ever experiences. I still have tape throughout the house’s interior and exterior from the first walk through, squeaky floors on the second level, items have gone ignored in my warranty requests. First time buying a house and it's been quite the experience. Not all the things were done that were supposed to be prior to settlement. Never got everything I was promised in the deal. I feel like after everything was signed I became chop liver. I regret buying this house.

everyone was friendly and personable, however the building process was rough. There was poor craftmanship that we had issues with, and the issues were slow to be resolved before closing and now that we closed nothing has been resolved. Some of the craftmanship is questionable quality especially for the price being charged. things like gas leaks, broken doors, dryer vent being installed smashed to the point that it is not possible to hook a dryer up to it. missing lights, gas line being cut too short and instead of cutting a new pipe they just glued on a bunch of couplings to make the short pipe longer, and many more. note the issues above are things that remain issues after closing and that have not been resolved nor been given a timeline of when/if they will be. Note on the gas leak, called an emergency line and they sent someone out and they said that it looked good. Then as they left they recommended just incase to call the city. Called the city they came out and said yes you for sure have a gas leak and then the city fixed it. ... Más

I was not given all the information that is necessary for me. They just need money, That’s is all they need, don’t care about the customer experience. The sale representative is rude. I shouldn’t have bought home with them but it’s too late. I wouldn’t recommend others to this place.

I recently purchased a home built by Richmond American Homes, and my overall experience has been far from satisfactory. Walking across uneven surfaces is frustrating, and I worry about the long-term impact on the structure. Cheap Materials: Richmond American Homes seem to have prioritized cost-cutting over quality. The cabinets, doors, trim, paint all appear to be low quality. For the price I paid, I expected better materials that would stand the test of time. Lack of Attention to Detail: The lack of craftsmanship is evident throughout the house. From crooked trim to mismatched paint, it’s clear that the builders didn’t take pride in their work. Even basic finishing touches were overlooked. Nails Coming Through Carpet: Imagine my surprise when I stepped on a nail poking through the carpet on the stairs! Not only is this uncomfortable, but it’s also a safety hazard. Proper installation procedures were clearly ignored. Curved Walls: Some of the interior walls have noticeable curves, which affects the overall aesthetics of the home. Straight walls are a basic expectation, especially in a new build. The lack of precision is disappointing. Nail Pops: I’ve already had several nail pops in the drywall. These unsightly bumps indicate poor construction practices. It’s frustrating to deal with repairs so soon after moving in. Shingles Not Securely Fastened to Roof: During a recent storm, I noticed loose shingles flapping in the wind. Proper installation and secure fastening are critical for a durable roof. Richmond American Homes clearly fell short in this regard. Holes in Siding Patched with Caulking: Instead of addressing siding issues properly, the builders opted for a quick fix—caulking over holes and gaps. This not only looks unprofessional but also raises concerns about water infiltration and insulation. In summary, my experience with Richmond American Homes has been disappointing. I urge potential buyers to hire a professional inspector to thoroughly inspect the workmanship, materials, and attention to detail before committing to a purchase. ommisions of options we needed to know about things like floor color of carpet and laminate floor. paint color choice since are same price type of doors. cleaning of garage floor surface before moved in. "DOORS ARE TO TALL" WE ARE NOT GAINTS....

Non responsive people. After several calls and emails, nobody answers your concerns. The quality of the brand new building is not as good as you think. Very bad customer service. The offered incentive would be gone in some non sense expenses.

So many things didn’t get done before house as sold. Now we have to be home in order to get repairs done that should have happened before we moved in. Sub contractors trying to get away with mistakes and covering them up, and Richmond is not holding them accountable until after we complain about it. Then we have to take time off of work to be home so they can come back and fix it correctly. Mike treated us like we were idiots and refused to listen to us, even though time and time again we were proven correct. I haven’t met a neighbor yet that is happy with Mike or the process, and we have met about half of the new buyers. Just about every complaint was met with I don’t see anything wrong with that. But when we asked him if he would accept that in his own house, he would say no. Always trying to get away with the least possible workmanship. ... Más

A tough experience; most homeowners, including myself, have lost $10k-15k in the process due to lack of information and communication from the Sales department. The company experiences delays and doesn't take responsibility for them. The house has many minor issues; the quality is poor, and every room has some inconvenience, for which the builder is slow to address.

The Craftsmanship of the homes in Timber Crest is worse than any other builder I have ever encountered. I'd take D.R. Horton over the garbage Richmond American had produced. The President of the TN operations is a lifelong salesman with no construction or development experience and it shows. EVERY SINGLE HOME in Timber Crest has issues. Everything from concerning drainage for water runoff in the neighborhood to forgetting to install insulation in homes (yes, forgetting to install insulation!!) has resulted in nightmares for all the residents in our community. Never bought a new home and gone through an experience that we have with this house. Never got a straight answer from anyone. Then, to find so much wrong after we moved in. Still waiting to have things repaired.

I would like all prospective buyers to know that our home was deemed certified and ready for habitation 5 weeks AFTER the planned losing date. During our walk through 35 items were still listed as substandard and in need of repair. After moving in, we needed to move to a hotel for 8 nights while the builder removed construction materials from the sewer line that they were notified were blocking the sewer line 7 weeks PRIOR to their certification. We have turned in 12 additional service requests in the first 3 weeks in the home and ONLY TWO have been repaired as of 33 days in the home. Richmond American gave us a VERY inferior product and has been quite non-responsive to requests for corrections. ... Más

Desde el día uno que nos mudamos se nos va la corriente en la cocina se nos dañó todo lo d esa nevera hicimos el reporte y hasta hoy 12/31/2023 no han solucionado el problema sin decir que el piso tiene detalles la alfonbra de la escalera tiene pintura en los bordes las manillas absolutamente todas las tocaba y te quedaban en las manos allí la reglamos como pudimos ya que eso no puede esperar y lo podíamos hacer lo d de la electricidad se escapa de nuestras manos para resolverlo. Y la grama no la colocaron la tiraron por ende no está lisa está con muros ósea montaña pequeña y no hablar que cuesta que las pocetas o inodoros descarguen de forma eficiente realmente quería una casa pero no pensé que podía tener tantos problemas siendo nueva y lo peor es que no te ayudan a resolverlo el problema de electricidad es grave y aún así no han podido solucionar ...
